I know I'm crazy... but bear with me!! TURBO BUILD!!
Firefox, maybe those are the percentage of blow-by you are letting by your rings? I mean, I guess it could be much worse. I'd rather see middle cylinders let more by than 1 and 4. What did Paul say about the numbers?
"Compression testing is a crude form of leak-down testing which also includes effects due to compression ratio, valve timing, cranking speed, and other factors. Leak-down testing is a static test. Leak-down tests cylinder leakage paths. Leak-down primarily tests pistons and rings, seated valve sealing, and the head gasket.
Leakage is given in wholly arbitrary percentages but these “percentages” do not relate to any actual quantity or real dimension. The meaning of the readings is only relative to other tests done with the same tester design. Leak-down readings of up to 20% are usually acceptable. Leakages over 20% generally indicate internal repairs are required. Racing engines would be in the 1-10% range for top performance, although this number can vary. Ideally, a baseline number should be taken on a fresh engine and recorded. The same leakage tester, or the same leakage tester design, can be used to determine wear."
So there you have it folks... basically my motor for it's age is outstanding. Even New Era was surprised on the numbers and the amount of miles she had... then again... 6 trips cross country (NY to ID) will rack 'em up quickly!!
Firehose, what's in Idaho? I mean, I get the whole "potato" thing, but really? You have to drive 2,500 miles just for a good french fry? That's dedication.
Also, glad to see I was dumb enough to know what these test results were indicating. I couldn't think it would be anything else. That's not bad blow-by at all. Nice jobby jobberton.

I do apologize, I wasn't insulting anyone's intelligence by posting the definition... hell... even I didn't know exactly what the test was... and if it goes by another name... that's new to me as well... putting that in my back pocket!! Hahaha
Of course you didn't insult my intelligence at all, Firestation. I was just saying I had never heard of actual leak down/blow by results in number fashion. And I was saying, I was dumb enough to actually conceptualize what the "F" it could be... and I was right!
And dang, that's some haulin' my man. I have a couple war stories like that. Here's two of them really quick. Flew out of Milwaukee at 7 am. Got to Vegas and finally hit the road at 4pm. Drove a box truck straight straight straight through all alone no cruise control through the mountains with no radio 1400 miles to Dallas, TX. Got there at 2 pm the next day. Got to my hotel, and zonked it. Now that's what's up.
Then another time, flew from Milwaukee at 11 am. Got to Dallas and finally on the road at 8 pm after 5 hours of loading the same box truck. Drove straight straight straight through to Athens, AL. Got there at 8 am that next morning, just to unload the biotch again and then drive an hour and a half to the airport to catch another plane to North Carolina, to then catch another one back to Milwaukee. Landed in Milwaukee at 11 pm, just to drive back to my house which is an hour and a half away.
Yes, this was all for work of course. I'm such a nice guy.

District Manager for a cable installation company. I make sure all my systems around the country are always running well and travel around to each of them and help with anything and everything I can. Hence we needed the box truck in Dallas, so instead of risking having someone take on a trip like that, I just did it. Then we needed it in Athens, so I took it there, same reason.

Well the main job is my family's company (manufacturing), then the military (USAF Firefighter...12 yrs so far), then at an AMF bowling alley as a pin setter mechanic (for fun) and lastly, me and a partner just bought a bowling alley... remodeling and revamping it and reopening. Then my volunteer fire department... and wrenching on my car in my free time hahaha
Yeah, that's way too much. I have work, music, and racing.
That's tight that you bought a bowling alley man. I hope it goes well for you. That is one thing I love to do with a few pitchers. My scores are usually as follows:
0 beers = 100
5 beers = 150
8 beers = 200
12+ beers = 60 and below
Same goes for billiards.

"Paid" Firefighter? They make those? Haha. I'm just messing.
But yeah, that'd be tight. I know being a Sheriff is legit, and deny nearly 99% of their applicants. Haha. Good luck man, that'd be cool to stick to one thing.

In my short life... ive traveled the world twice, (only continent I haven't set foot on is south America)... ive got a hand in everything or ive done it myself... I believe it's called a "muse"... jack of all trades, but master of none.. hahaha that's me!!
Impressive, seeing as how I've never met anyone who has been to Antarctica. That's pretty cool. I certainly consider myself jack of all trades, master of none. There are a lot of things I do and a lot of things I'm good at, but nothing I have mastered. Like juggling. I am pretty good with three items, but never a fourth.

Back at the car... going in again today to get new brakes installed and me and my mech are going to look at the exhaust set up... plus im getting a quote on some custom body work (true wide body) so I can fit some fatter tires up front...
I've had plenty of three-somes in my day, but never a four way believe it or not... I've just always had cool girlfriends that didn't care if another girl joined in.
What are you looking for in an exhaust? It's tough to shop for an exhaust right now, no? Since you need to know what exhaust manifold you will be running so you know where you're turbo's going to hang.
Also, you're better off buying a wide body kit and just selling the rears, and the bumpers if it comes with them. If you aren't going to do it yourself that is. That fabrication hours on that won't make it worth it.

I am definitely purchasing the Dezod kit... so the mani isn't the issue...
No... I want to be a little different with the exhaust... either want to kick it out the side... or bring it up and have it like a GT car, centered out the back just under the hatch (through the bumper) I dunno... just trying to set it apart a bit... plus like I said... the pot holes round here will kill a low hanging exhaust quick and would like it up and out of the way... the closer I can tuck it... the lower I can be!! hahaha I love my s techs... but she still has a bit of daylight showing under her...
Don't get me wrong tho... im not a "frame rider" when it comes to a lowered car. Function first, then form!!
