I've been around the custom engine building field for many years, more then I care to admit to. lol... but same advice I always give to novice inquiries of Nitrous use.... don't do it. Just follow this one simple rule. If you install/use nitrous, it's not IF you blow something up, but WHEN. And generally the odds of getting at least yourself killed in the process isn't in your favor, if you enjoy things like living and breathing.
CAN you go and use nitrous? yes you can... would I recommend it? hell no.
Even top trained professionals in this field that do this for a living have that happen from time to time.
I've witnessed nitrous explosions first hand before at the track from people using it. It doesn't just catch on fire, it's like a bomb going off, and the car is the granade at ground zero. And it's NOT easy to put out once it ignites.

I wish places like Hollywood would stop glorifying the use of nitrous in films. The chemical compounds are extremely volatile. Many people die every year as a direct result of it's use.
I have a family and racing background and have been involved in it for many years. I don't go around giving advice on something that I don't know inside and out. I've seen the good and the bad with it... so take it for what it's worth to you.
..

I am grateful that your trying to help cuz as u can tell i am new to nitrous. but as u can also tell i like to be well informed. so if u can give me some advise as to nitrous use and whatever else u think well help me and my car that would be great. I do plan on installing nitrous into my car sometime in the near future. so i need advise from vets to nitrous. and not telling me that i should not do it. I feel if u dont over do the nos shots and u use all the safety equipment available to u that it wont harm me or my engine.

I think mouse hit the nail on the head. Fact is your exposing an engine to higher than normal pressures and temps so your gonna wear an engine down alot quicker. You can build an engine up but your buying more time is all. On a long enough time line all engines fail!
Ther are also those oops moments when somthing was forgoten or a part fails causing a catastrophic failure.

some of these guys claim that the kits were tuned and installed by a pro.

moral of the story is dont do it unless you can accept what could happen and pay for the damages.
I will tell ya this...it is fun though...lol
