Default Installing heat shield on turbo?

Ok - might be a stupid question, but is it safe to unbolt the bolts on the turbo to install the heat shield? Do they require thread lock or anything?

Thanks in advance

nope, i took my whole turbo apart the other day...

as long as you dont' half ___ it you should be fine.

make sure you bolt everything properly!

oh btw. you can make a heatshield for a turbo using a stainless steal cooking pot that is cut in half.

=D

That's really heavy. You can go find sheet metal at Home Depot and do the same.
