Installing A Supercharger
You threatened someoneon the internet, what does that say about you?
You could be the biggest baddest fighter in the word, you know where that gets you? NO WHERE!!! Because your not going to fly out to ca or wherever it is that the dude you threated is from.
Now here, instead of resorting to violence to cover the fact you couldnt come up with a knowledgeable response, GO DO RESEARCH and beat him where you actually can on the internet. Beat him with proof of your BASELESS facts.
I dont know and dont care to, but turning to how big you are and how you can SUPPOSEDLY beat someone up, is immature and pointless.

This thread has gone so far off topic I forgot what it was about..Can't we just give the guy an opinion on installing the s/c himself rather than arguing about who knows what? Sorry to sound like a peace talker but I think if he wanted to know whether the s/c or turbo was better he would have asked that very question.
To move the thread back to topic...
Installing it yourself seems like it would be best if you knew how to get the reflash or got it first..but I would probably want the factory to install it just for warranty purposes..although if it's used I have no idea if it would be considered under warranty or not? I would probably void the warranty after the break in period anyway lol
That and I don't know if I would want to deal with tapping the oil pan myself but I'm not any good at that kinda stuff anyway!

Whoa Guys Come on lets not fight. Boost is Awesome no matter in what form. I don' t care who has a 1000hp whatever. I know that when It comes to High Hp a turbo is always the way to go. And when you want decent power warranty and reliability the supercharger is ftw.But all of my mods on my car are already geared towards the supercharger i.e. Intake, Headers, Underdrive Pulley. and 2 1/2 inch exhaust all the way back. and that's why I am getting a supercharger. I know I can sell them all and get a turbo but that just defeats the purpose of what I bought them for. I don't want to make extreme numbers I would really just like to make about 250whp. That's it. I do like the idea of warranty but my tc already has 30,000 miles so I am almost out of the warranty anyway so really no point in getting a trd technician to install especially when I have a pretty extensive set of tools here at home.
Thanks for all the info but I had a quick question for you supercharged guys based on what you know would you reccomend buying a used supercharger? i mean people just don't buy a supercharger for their sunday drive. Would you say in your professional opinion to get one new???
Lets all just ignore 20tcdude05. apperently his friend has tought him nuthing about boost and he is just dumb.
just because your friend is an expert that doesn't make you one. Anyways the supercharger is actually a very good investment if you want to have a daily driver that is fun. You will never be able to make the tc a 800 hp car like MR TCDUDES friend but do u really need that. Through the Intake, header, exhaust on there and it will fly. Personally i am going with the turbo charger but you will still get mad props with the supercharger.
Good luck tuning.

Do you have a lift ?
The difficult parts without it would be the oil pan, lower temp thermostat and higher tq crank bolt. Other than that it is pretty straight foward, new fuel line, injectors, new a/c mounting brakets some other harnesses. But the most important part is shimming the pulley correctly. Hope this helps you.

No I don't have a lift unfortunately. Maybe Santa claus will bring me one! lol. I wish. then I wouldn't have any money for the supercharger!! No I will have to do this on good ol Jackstands and when you say shimming the pulley correctly what do you mean? I also have an underdrive pulley but it's the zpi pulley which means it's the same diameter as the stock one does anyone have this with their supercharger or should I uninstall it?

New is always best anyway but you could just as easily get a lemon with a new s/c as with a used one or get a used one that is just as good as a new one, so thats kinda your call. If you're confident that who you're buying it from is someone you can trust then go for it! It's always kind of hit or miss with this sorta thing IMO.
Oh man, I have to apologize on behalf of my brother who is 16 (and is actually getting a 2008 tC) and he got on my name and started posting. He even caused a ruckus in the Rocky Mountain Regionals forum. I am very sorry. I just hope my name has not become tarnished. I just love this forum too much for it to become tarnished. I am a fan of the Supercharger, I used to want one, until it didn't meet up to my power goals to at least 300WHP and 300WTQ. But, yea, it wasn't me making those idiotic posts. 100lbs of boost? LOL, that made me laugh.
