which intake do you recommend?
Bear with me now, I'm a complete noob on this
Is there a big difference power/mileage -wise between the TRD, Injen, or AEM Cold air intakes?
I believe the TRD and Injen one can be used as a short ram, what is the difference power/mileage -wise if I use it as a short RAM as opposed to the full CAI?
also, how easy is it to do this mod? (Level of difficulty and time?)

looks hot, man
yeah, I know all intake look generally the same and most of the time people can't see them anyways, so that's why I asked about the performance if any differences
there's also a bit of difference between the TRD one in price too
im not sure how scared u are of voiding your warranty, but if you are u can spend the extra money on the TRD one and get less gains. Even though intakes shouldnt void them dealerships can be a pain in the a s s. AEM and Injen are both great intakes but i think in a tests the Injen one did the best. But they are all not too far apart.
Then why is this in the Forced Induction section?
It should be in the DriveTrain & Power section.
But I'll throw in my $.02. I like Injen quality, and the fact that you can switch from Cold Air to Ram air. Ram air is easier to install, really easy, but cold air is not that difficult. I think you have to remove the bumper for that.
We just put my buddies Monstor Motor Works Secret Weapon intake in and it sound mean. Easy install, maybe 2 hours. He says he notices some power difference in the top end.

i really don't think there is that much of a difference between cai. it is just a pipe with a place for the maf and filter and so on. just slight differences with the fitment and quality and name brand you prefer.
as for mileage decrease. it isn't really noticible. your engine detects increased air coming into the engine and adds alittle more fuel to maintain proper a/f ratios.

ooops, sorry
anyways, thanks for everyone's reply
still undecided but sort of leaning towards the TRD one
I have the Injen CAI, the main difference between it and others is it uses 3" piping while the others use 2.5". Mileage may go down a tad or it can actually go up. It honestly all depends on how you drive the car after you put it on. If you like to start stomping on it of course your mileage will suck but you will be having fun. If you drive it 100% like you did before you put it on then your mileage should increase slightly b/c it is easier for it to pull in the air and it can do so in larger quanties if needed. For examply my car now runs about 100rpm lower at every speed than it use to when I put mine on. I do 80mph at 3100rpm and 85mph at 3300rpm in my a/t.
Now, are you planning on the TRD so you can have dealer install it and keep the warranty on it? If not and you plan on installing it and no matter which one you end up getting, I HIGHLY suggest getting Dr. Isotope's CAI fender panel mount. It's only 17 bucks shipped and he makes them for almost all of the CAI brands. It will secure the pipe when it goes through the fender so that it wont rattle, move around, and possibly break the mounting bracket that the Injen and if im not mistaken the AEM have been known to do. No offense to you at all but there are atleast 3 good threads covering this type of topic. Don't remember their titles but they have lots of info in them. And if someone could be so kind and link this dude to Dr. I's fender panels that would be great as I seem to have lost my shortcut to it.
