Jet-Hot: which coating???
Well, I ordered my turbonetics turbo kit today and will be in by the end of the week, maybe sometime early next week. Untill then I have to decide what coating to have jet-hot put on the cast iron manifold and down pipe. I've been leaning towards the 2000 black coating, good for 2450 degrees. And for the down pipe the Extreme sterling, good for 1700 degrees but only holds it's shine up to 1400. I don't exactly know just how hot the down pipe will get. The person tuning the car said it should ever get to those temps. but it never hurts to have the extra protection. Bottom line, if the manifold doesn't get that hot, I thinking about doing the extreme sterling for both.
If anyone can comment on either the temp the manifold will see or even has pictures of either or these coatings on their setups (regardless of the kit), I love to see them. Oh, just for an added image of what my engine bay will be like: picture BSP tC with wagon red powder coated vavle cover and powder coated charge pipes. I'm into a little show as well as the performance. Thanks again for the help and opinions.

Well, EGTs on a turbo car can get into 1800 degrees, which I have seen on some turbo Civics. As far as coating on a downpipe or manifold, 2K series is the only way to go. Sterling silver and several others are only rated to 1300-1700 degrees.
