Default Lots of smoke! Help. Dezod, Ptunning, please chime in

Car is smoking. smells like fuel, oil, and kind of like burning rubber. Don't know why. Compression is good. Had the turbo rebuilt. Oil return is fine. Any ideas on what to do or what it might be?

Also misfires in cylinders 1 and 2. Checked plugs and coils both were good. My buddy whos a mechanic thinks its the head gasket. Going to do another compression test tomorrow. If it is how much does getting the head gasket replaced cost?

if compression is still good, go for a leak down test as well.. so plugs are good, no signs of detonation? did you check your downpipe or intake pipe for oil or maybe coolant?

ace- plugs are good. no signs of oil

crush- they said all cylinders were around 210

210, is kinda high? may be dependent on motor year. mine's an '05 and at 180psi. higher compression may indicate something is on top of your cylinders and burning also may cause the misfire. just a thought.

^ i 2nd that. i had that problem with mine after first rebuild. then i swapped exhaust. problem solved. still doesn't cover the misfiring....hmm...

i thought the same thing but its just too much smoke. May even be more than before. Also the problem is it may have never be blown. Comp turbo said that when they took it apart the seals were fine. they replaced them anyway.

mine were 180psi except on cyl 3 which was 190psi....could higher compression mean a sticking valve? idk

Nope coolants good.

Did another compression test
205 205 205 215

Thinking its the piston rings.

my coolant level seems to drop fast and i add water often... but i got no smoke anywhere... why is this? do u think its just the florida heat?

^evaporation through the overflow tank due to under hood temps and FL heat. don't wuote me on that

dave, you could have broke a ring land or two. Def time for motor build.
