MN Dezod S1 tune
So I went to the tune shop today b/c my tech called me and said they had my car on the dyno and were getting ready to tune it. I got there feeling very good happy that they were done a day early. I asked him if they had had any problems and he said yes. A little confused I said well they guys at Dezod assured me that everything would go together fine.. He said and I quote.... The manifold was warped... I said what... theres no way. He showed me the gasket and sure enough there where high and low spots all over it... He said it leaked like a sieve and that they had had to take a belt sander and sand it so it was even... I promptly called Dezod and I spoke to Enrique who by the way had a ____ty attitude and no customer service skills out of anyone I have ever met. He said Full Blow Motorsports should have sent in the manifold and they would have checked to see if there was a problem.When I asked to speak to Paul... he gave me some excuse about no body being there due to Good Friday. There wasn't even a manager I could speak to about the issue. I politely tried to enplane that it would be hard for a shop to use one of its stalls for 8 days while the manifold was sent to them and then re shipped to me.. I said that he would have overnighted it to me and it would not have taken that long. I had previously ordered a vacuum bock from them which I still haven't received and that was supposed to be overnighted 7 days ago....... However in there favor, Paul emailed me back right away when I contacted him about the problem..... sorry I got a little off track... My tech didn't have time to argue with Enrique about how there is no possible way it could have happened. Enrique proceeded to say how does he know that Full blown isn't trying to get some money out of them..... Ill tell you why BECAUSE FULL BLOWN GETS PAID NO MATER WHAT.... I'm the one out the money buddy ... Why would he want to make more work for himself it makes no senseOver all I am very disappointed in the way this situation is being handled. The lack of gaskets and certain missing parts really made it difficult for the tech to install... In the end I hope Paul calls me back b/c the last time I asked Enrique to have Paul call me back it didn't happen.. If I was to do it again I think I would stick with a TT kit... I hope this situation can be resolved b/c I am out $500 for all the work they had to do to get the down pipe to fit right and flanges to sit flat. Everyones not perfect all the time Enrique.

I hear you bro, same thing happen to my buddy paul, and joe over at dezod installed his kit, and put the vaccum line in the wrong spot on the wastegate which is why his motor blew come to find out! I hate dezod!
you never should have let them do that.

I know RJ well enough that I don't think he would make something like that up... I was giving me a huge break on the tine so I know he want looking to get $$ out of me... and actually they might have machined it... honestly I don't know... I went there b/c I dint think he would have any problems and it is cold as ice here right now

This is the 1st I am hearing about this! First off, I do apologize for how Enrique may have handled this situation. To further explain, he was no lieing about management noting being present because we had closed early and most of us left due to today being Good Friday. (even the best have to rest) Most left around 12-1PM EST.
Next order of business would be addressing the vac block, which I feel we and possibly you had dropped the ball on together. You called to have it added to the order, after the fact I told you I needed an email from you stating this, which I never received. So I assumed you did not need it. The unit is sitting on my desk at work!!! Enrique told me he spoke to you as well about it, and he (as far as I know) did not receive your email either. I have however received about 125 emails this morning alone from several customers. So I do not know what happened there. I can not explain that one. You where not charged for anything more than you kit, because we did not receive your email authorizing the charge onto your mom's card.
Lastly, is the issue of the flange. All of the flanges are tested and assured after production to prevent such an issue. There are also measures our fab team takes to ensure no such thing occurs to the 3/8" steel flange.
In a worst case scenario, that this was the case, I feel we should have been contacted IMMEDIATLY knowing the fact with that flange. We would have simply sent you a replacement manifold via Overnight with call tag for the other. This is how business works for us and all other companies.
Due to the fact you took action into you own hands, you assumed all responsiblity and liability for the correction of the flange, which we can not and will not reimburse you for.
This would be on the same premise as buying a microwave from Best Buy, and getting home only to discover that it does not work. So you decide to take it to an electronics place to have fixed, and they charge you $500, which then you try to get Best Buy to pay. They are NEVER going to pay that bill. You should have taken it back to Best Buy immediately, and the same goes with us! Unfortunatly my hands are tied with that case.
P.S.-What else where you missing from us? According to your 1st post, you made it sound like we shorted you parts, but the checklist is made before it leaves to prevent this. Once again, the 1st I am hearing from you about this.
Edit--Atleast when you make some DAMN good power and crush some stock EVOs and WRXs you will be thrilled about owning our system

I am sad to hear this, but have never heard of any manifold problems with Dezod. As far as their customer service goes, it is normally top notch. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Paul and they have been nothing but help. I have even called him on not Scion related things and he has been tremendous and I know other will vouch for him as well. On the flip side, there are always going to be a few people that are unsatisfied and something happened to them, but no one or company is perfect. Some are close, such as Dezod and I will continue to support them.
Edit: And like Paul said, you will love it when you are making all that power!

not to get off topic but putting the vac hose on the wrong wastegate nipple will easily cause the engine to blow, its called overboost and when the boost pressure is holding the wastegate CLOSED the turbo will continue to build boost until either A. it reaches its max boost, or B. the engine grenades.
the top port is supposed to vent to atmosphere unless you're running a high boost application, while the bottom port is hooked into a vac source from your turbo or im

Its general manufacturing... You make enough of something, something's bound to not be 100% perfect... Look at any company that makes anything, Im willing to bet they have a department solely designated to analyze any defects and come up with solutions... That's life, not everything can be perfect 100% of the time... Sorry you had to have that one item that could have had a defect...
On the dezod note, Paul has been extremely helpful with every question I have ever approached him with... He has even made suggestions to save me some $$ on unnecessary stuff, like getting the cool-side of my turbo ceramic coated... Its already polished... I have never personally dealt w/ Enrique so I cannot vouch for him...
And on a side note... I cannot wait to make that power... Just waiting for stuff to come back from Jet Hot... Oh the wait... ;(

i don't see why you're so upset. the install shop should have notified you right away and at that time you should have called paul. for them to take care of it right away seems a little shady.
oh and brett, sanding a flange so its completely flat is fine, theres no advantage to machining it or sanding it because after machining you want to sand down the high and low spots from the bit.
you're jumping on dezods back pretty quick and making a lot of assumptions man, i recommend you get your facts straight before you start pointing the finger at people
