Default Most amount of power from TRD

I was just wondering what is the most amount of power people have gotten from the TRD S/C. I know scion is discontinuing the S/C(atleast thats what I heard) but I am still thinking of getting one because I love the wind up sound much more then then spool of a turbo. Along with the most power what else was done to the car to make such power? Thanks

you will have to spend waaaay too much money to get 300 hp with the s/c

i would get a used s/c and get the shaft and bearings upgrade.. 11 psi pulley, header, s-pipe, 2.5 inch cat back, wr s/c intake, wr intake manifold + tuning and you will be good for a good 240whp

With the price for all of that, you could get a used turbo kit by dezod or tnetics and have 280 with room to grow.

Plus i'm not impressed with the lack of sweet supercharger whine that the TRD gives. It is barely noticeable, especially after driving in a modded cobalt SS/SC

Would it be possible to machine straight cut gears for the charger to get that sound? or to have it perform better with say a 10psi pulley? I kno in the sticky in the F/I section it says that they are straight cut, but looking at a picture of them, they are curved.

the s/c doesn't make any sound, if you want to machine straight cut gears and spend hundreds of dollars on that you can do it, still won't make much of a sound, nothing nearly as loud as a roots blower.

Umm.. How do you figure with all that you would only have 240whp

And to the OP, like everyone else said.. dont expect to sound like cobalt ss does.

I had a nice whine going when I had my s/c with a cai, you don't get the whine with the stock airbox.

Yea thats correct with the 9.5psi pulley, but you said an 11psi pulley plus a tune.. That will surely net you more. I put down 251whp with bolt-ons, 9.5psi on the trd tune. Every car is different so i guess you never know.

With the s/c you can have both, but less power

yeah, I don't know what kind of S/C spool up sound you are expecting with this model. I don't hear anything crazy like the OP is talking about.
