I'm thinking I might ditch the Bosch 110 in favor of a Forge 007 for the next run.... JUST to see if there's a difference. Besides, it's cheap, relatively speaking.

Hey, any of you other SC'd guys who are modding this setup - do you have any posted boost #'s while being T'd in on the dyno?

I'm a little puzzled. When ripp did a stock SC setup with E-man, he read - 6lb of boost. Which I suppose would be fine for a setup capable of 7psi max.

Now, when I was T'd in with my NST 9.5lb, I read - wouldn't you know it, 6lb of boost.... I don't think it's Dyno error, I have seen other cars T'd in reading far higher values. But what the HECK is going on here?

I've seen over 7 on my boost gauge, but I'm not quite sure how accurate it is compared to being T'd in at the dyno.

Any advice is welcome. Any possible explanations will be entertained, be it belt slippage, boost leak, sub-space transmissions from the seven vernox galaxies, anything.

My guesses would be either:

Belt slip or BPV opening up at 6 psi

The latter is what was happening on mine when I was running the greddy bov. I switched back to forge and it was fixed.

The BPV! I didn't think of that... Karl - time for a different BPV or BOV!

thats the thing - karl said that he was also running 9lbs before the tune - but after he got tuned was the issue - but him nor myself knows all the facts yet. we arent sure if its any of the following:

1. his boost gauge is wrong (which is prob isnt cause it was pushing 9lbs before the tune)
2. the bpv interacting diff w/ the tune
3. his new pulley setup and new belt he put on
4. .....if they used another gauge to measure the boost ...im not sure what they did when he went for his tune.

I'm guessing the bpv is bleeding the excess off but I could be wrong

^That's what's throwing me as well. I don't know, it could be a combo of belt slip and bpv leakage

The belt would make some sense - during tuning the belt heats up quite a bit and expands slightly causing some slip, when used driving around town or when first started the belt's cold, no expansion

Well, it wasn't belt slip It was the diverter valve.

My Forge 007 arrived today. Popped it in with the middle-of-the-road spring (yellow) and left the 2 included spacers out.

With the Bosch 110: 3lb of boost at 3-4k, climbing to 6-7 at redline.

With the Forge: 6lb of boost at 3-4k, quickly climbing to 9+ at redline.

I EASILY made back double-digit WHP and TQ numbers, or so the Butt Dyno(TM) thinks. Replacing the Bosch 110 is by far the best decision I could have made with my build thus far. I only wish I did it sooner.

Oct 7: Possible re-tune if my 12lb pulley shows up.... If not, just another dyno pull.

Gotta love the forge. I suggest picking up a red spring from somewhere, it'll help a little as well
