The 244 was done on a stock exhaust. There is more then one person here with just the kit no exhaust that is making 240+ I'm sorry you hate the Unichip but the fact is its a reliable EMS that has been proven time and again. This isn't the Unichip of old (DOS based crap). The Unichip GP and Unichip Q have a lot of added power the old one didn't.

hey whats the differences between the GP and the Q cause I have the GP and I think the ones that you guys send out with the kits are the Q correct?

Technically Ben, cars that you have beaten is not only a contribution of HP. You have to factor in Weight, driver skill, tQ, and other misc. factors. HP is only a fraction of the equation when it comes to "Real World" racing. I bet with only 230whp in a tC, you could take out a 350Z (rated 287 @ the crank).

So, We have a situation on our hands here:

Tnetics says the car dynoed 244whp on Stock Exhaust.

Dtroung dynoed 200whp on Stock Exhaust

And

tCing_U dynoed 248 (4 hp more) on a 3 inch Exhaust

Definetly a testament in showing not all tC's are created Equal.

Or that there are underliying issues with the install, or car itself...

Yea, but you guys are dyno tuned. What were your numbers with the Dezod base map???

If this car was tuned, he can see better #'s..

that might be the case, however, the graphs from both of these cars are almost identical. I have also seen other TN cars dyno low.

you say are cars was tuned then how do you explain someone dynoing 200whp and someone dynoing 248whp? why would someone make 48 more whp then someone else? is the 244 numbers tuned....

If that be the case, shouldn't there be a disclaimer in their advertisement that states. "This car was not dynoed on the base map provided with the Unichip. To seek similar #'s we advise to have your car dyno tuned according to the conditions of your environment".

dunno, makes sense to me..

With a tune that car would easily be good for 260-270whp.

That remains questionable, as we don't know if the Tnetics car is on base or tuned map.

Yeah, cause there is no way some of these cars can put down 200whp and some 244whp and there not b a difference in the tune

Its quite simple honestly. First the 244 number from Turbonetics was on the same map that is sent to everyone else in the country. The difference is simple, environement variables. Things are different in different climates. As I and everyone else said tuning a car locally will ALWAYS net you more horsepower. The grand total of TWO cars that are low on this board I have yet to verify if there are any underlying issues. Not to mention that not all dynos are properlly maintained and could not read correctly. In the end there are hundreds of factors that will affect the power output. But in the end the out of box tune and kit will get you power in that range. Of course I have also yet to see even one dyno conducted correctly. Those cars that dyno'd low had NO baseline runs done prior to the install. So what was the car making BEFORE the kit? If the net gain is the same the issue not the kit or tune but rather the car or dyno its being tested on.

I don't see to many people doing a baseline run, so that's a little bit of a stretch to expect people to do that. What were the #'s of Tnetics car on the Baseline run? But I agree, that yes, different variables are going to come into play when you dyno a car halfway across the country. Hence I said...."all tC's are not created equal".

The two test Scion Tcs Turbonetics has baselined at just under 140 WHP. In the high 130s that is. Stock. With the kit and nothing else they put down 244.

Why on earth are you suggesting a down grade for this guy? On a turbocharged car the less restriction in the exhaust will yield more power to a certain extent. The only way that I would suggest for him switch back to 2.5 exhaust is if he didn't have any type of forced induction. If you look closely at the dyno chart it is clear that this car needs to be fine tuned because the way the power band increases and decreases through out the rpm range. A properly tuned car will have a smooth power band without all those dips in it!!!

3" exhaust is to big for this lil amount of boost on these cars...2.5" is definitely the right size for any tC running under 13psi. hey Miaplaya I dont know if you caught my previous post about the unichips...do you know the difference from the GP series to the Q series?

If the idea was that the least restriction yeilds the best results, then none of us would run an exhaust at all. However, there is such a thing has having to big of an exhaust. The least amount of back pressure is good, but to an extent. We need a little back pressure still even though we are turboed and not N/A (at least that's what I understand.... )
