Default Need some answers before I buy the TRD S/C

i been reading and reading about the TRD S/C but im still a little confused on some things, can you guys help me answer some quick questions? thanks

1. do i still gotta worry about the bracket problem??
2. do BOV's really work (PSSHHHH) or is it full of crap i.e HKS SSQV
3. which boost gauge is the everyone running?
4. NST 9.5 pulley where to get?
5. Can i run my car without the reflash for like a day or two as long as i dont shift above 3k or drive hard?
6. What does the Forge 007 BPV benefit over the stock Bosch BPV?

opinions and experiences welcomed thanks again!

1. do i still gotta worry about the bracket problem?? depends. if its an 05-06 kit, you need to have the dealer do a warranty repair order on the new bracket. you get it for free but need them to order it so it may take a while. they can order without having your car there - you just need to give them your VIN and all that. or you can order the new bracket from trdsparks for $155 shipped last time i checked. if its an 07, it should have the new bracket. im assuming the new s/c for 05-06 with the new part#/price drop has the new bracket (i would hope so), but am not sure.
2. do BOV's really work (PSSHHHH) or is it full of crap i.e HKS SSQV. yes, i believe they go psssh and work.
3. which boost gauge is the everyone running?i dont have one, but im sure any quality brand boost gauge will do.
4. NST 9.5 pulley where to get? you should be able to get it straight from nst.
5. Can i run my car without the reflash for like a day or two as long as i dont shift above 3k or drive hard? yes.
6. What does the Forge 007 BPV benefit over the stock Bosch BPV? i dont know. i have stock.

opinions and experiences welcomed thanks again!

My responses are taking into account that you are talking about buying one of the newer TRD kits.

1. No need to worry about the bracket, the new kits should include better brackets.
2. No need for a BOV on the TRD SC.
3. I like Autometer gauges.
4. NST is www.NonStopTuning.com
5. If you plan to do the install yourself then you should get your car to a dealer as soon as you can for the reflash.
6. The 007 holds boost better, especially if you plan to run the NST pulley.

1. the new kits are supposed to have stronger brackets
2. YES BOVs DO WORK, you just need to get one that either recirc 50/50 vents atmosphere (GFB hybrid) or an adjustable one (greddy RS) so you can adjust the spring load so that the valve will stay shut at idle to prevent stalling or idle issues. from exprerience the GFB leaks like a mother, the greddy holds boost just fine, its a great valve with a nice loud PSH sound.
3. DEFI guages FTW, but they are very pricey. a set of 3 with the module will run about 600 bucks, but they are super accurate and do a full sweep like our gauges when you turn them on. DEFI > autometer any day
4. NST pulleys
5. you can run without the reflash just dont push it before you get to the dealer for flash.
6. the forge 007 dv has a stiffer spring in it then stock. the stock BPV leaks alot even under the stock 7lb boost. with the forge 007 you will boost sooner and it will hold boost better up to redline. although louder then stock, its nothing compared to an atmospheric bov. the cool thing is the valve is fully serviceable and tunable which means it can be repaired and rebuilt if needed vs. buying say a bosch 110 sport that will eventually wear out the diaphram.

its all up to you, you gotta pay to play and since you are already getting an expensive blower, u might as well get all the quality parts with it

haha it wouldn't compare to be totally honest, thats what my current car has but its still noticeable and people can hear it if their window is down beside you... it sounds like you really want the sound so definitely go with the Forge hybrid
