It has always been an option depending on what you'd like to do with your setup.
The Cat will get somewhat hot under a constant high boost load, such as road racing. It wont over heat from a drag race or street use. If you plan on keeping the car on the street for most cases, having the cat is fine, and it only costs $45 more. Not a bad way to stay legal and keep the CEL off. It also takes away less than 5whp (proven on the the dyno) so you're not even sacraficing too much power.
I took the cat off of my setup because of the larger amounts of abuse the car goes through.

Not sure what you mean by dangers. I wouldn't buy a kit if you plan on putting it under constant boost for extended periods of time. I don't mean by months, I mean by consecutive minutes. Any cat on any car will start to get really hot when you floor it. Add all this HP and a slightly richer fuel curve and it may not hold up of you're boosting for almost a minute straight.
I never clogged mine and I did do a few highway runs, but I'm only saying what COULD happen. The cat is rated for over 300whp so it's not really bottlenecking your system. If you really don't plan on road racing (dont lie to yourself haha) then using the cat isn't really a bad idea. You'll pass emissions and keep that pesky CEL off.

I see you guys are running 4 degrees of retarded ignition timing. Here's kind of a noob question, but is that something that is adjusted through the emanage, or something that would need to be physically changed?

Heck yeah, i still have a TON of your videos joe of your night time highway runs in the civic. I just logged into 7thgen to see how things were going in the F/I and i see you guys are posting like crazy! d17 kit is still looking great, although the vertical stack design of the intercooler is weird looking to me, but makes total sense when you realize you have to run both inlet and outlet sides of the i/c on one side due to space.
