I think you will spend alot of time warming up you car before you drive... JE = good for racing bad for everyday driving bcuz of piston slap... CP good for everyday driving and with a solid tune will be good for some decent racing

Caveman - you're not missing much if anything.. maybe APR studs/bolts for the head. You can call Paul at Dezod.com and ask him about different CR ratios on pistons. Or you can call any of the manufactures directly if you know all the specs of the piston.

Boosthappy - the difference between 88.5mm and 89mm bore is very small. You won't notice a huge gain in power from the displacement change. You'll be going from 2360cc to 2387cc - so you're still a 2.4L

SoFLo, - that's good ... let me know when you're ready to make a reservation with them.. we need to plan it correctly, because last thing we want is to find out that since we're both going, they won't have time to do everything for either of us. It would be great though if we could both get our things done the same time.

purevision - Yes JE's have piston slap.. but it's not unbearable. I had JE's in my 1.9L DOHC saturn motor. It's not too loud - at least down here in Miami. I'm not sure how much louder it would be up north. SRP pistons are made by JE but have a higher silicon content so less slap..

Someone said something about not raising the rev limiter. If you didn't raise the rev limiter but removed the governor, you'd be limited only like 135mph(I believe) before you hit redline.

isnt the rev limiter 127 now anyways?
i highly doubt any of us will ever need to go that fast in a race.
granted, ive gone that fast before, but it wasnt during a race...

That's the speed governor.. you hit that before hitting redline in 5th gear.

Our winters are colder then yours lol... But like I said before, JE is a good piston, my personal opinion is to only run them on a car that is only seeing to the track. But the slightly unbearable noise is the sound the cylinder walls saying stop slapping me or Ill make your car smoke lol... To each their own...

I have heard the same with CP pistons: and that is with K1 rods.

I didn't hear it on one with Wiseco pistons and Pauter rods!

You would only or should only go that fast in a race. I'm talking on a track. Someone mentioned a 800-900hp tC and said something about not raising the rev limiter. Makes no sense to have that much power and not race or raise the rev.

Get some pistons, rods, bearings, and head studs. Get a nice boost controller (I have one for sale ) and turn the the boost up but don't forget to get it tuned. You really can't say 14-15psi will give you 350whp so it's either run 14-15psi or go for 350whp. You may want to look into a water/meth injection to give you a little extra power without having to push more boost.

There you go. Don't for get to build that tranny and tranny cooler ect. . You may also want to look at some of "peteyd" to see what he did cuz he was going for a 300whp auto. Here's a link to one of his post https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=300hp+auto

bump, where can i find some nice 9.1 pistons? i looked at cp but was unable to locate them. do u have to do the order form?

i live in florida.. if JE requires u to idle for a couple minutes before driving idk if i want that and i heard they sound bad so idk. CP or wiseco sound nice to me.
