Default Oil Pressure PSI levels ?

After having my turbo seals go bad on my old turbo & even on my new 3 week old GT3076R, ive decided to get a oil pressure gauge to see what exactly is going on.

I want to get "NEW" updated information from people who have been running their turbo kits with a pressure gauge and what are their readings at idle, normal driving and wot.

For me it goes like this:

Idle (no reving)= 20PSI
Normal Driving (45MPH +) = 60PSI
WOT = "Dont know yet, since im trying to let the new turbo seals break in nicely"

Any information would be appreciated.

i dunno y if my pressure gauge is broken or what but it reads over 100 psi all the time i think it miht be broken and need a new gauge, but yeah that sounds about right.

Mine's in the 50s when I first start up, but after driving, my idles get down around 15-20psi. Normal driving is around 45-55psi. I'll try to remember to check it at WOT tomorrow. I've only been watching my AFR and Boost gauge and WOT so far.

OK, my idles are more like 10-18psi. Cruising is 40-55psi. When I was accelerating, it got up to 70 once or twice, but even at WOT, it stayed between 45-65.

I'd like to know what other guys are at.

i remember on my xB it was at around 85psi at WOT. I ran an oil pressure restrictor to the turbo cause without the restrictor, it would build up oil pressure and start pushing past the seals and their would be smoke coming out of the exhaust from it. Once I put the restrictor in between the oil line and the turbo I dropped the oil pressure down to about 35psi going into the turbo and there was no more smoke. Keep in mind guys, that I had a mechanical gauge reading the oil psi from the restrictor as well as the electrical oil psi gauge in the cockpit. The in cabin electric oil pressure gauge i had wont read the restriction, it will just read the normal engine oil psi so you gotta remember to put a gauge in line with the restrictor to fine tune the pressure going to the turbo

so your basically just reading the oil pressure going to the turbo, not the actual block then right? Well, without a restrictor on their the numbers wont be different, but keep in mind if you do put a restrictor on, its only gonna read the oil pressure going to the turbo, not the motor itself. If theres a drop in that number also then you know theres something wrong with your oil delivery and shut it down immediately

Good to know!
So, what should we be monitoring, if we have a restrictor? What's more importiant, oil pressure to the block or to the turbo? I would assume presure to the block would not change from before turbo install, right?

cold start 40- 50 psi, once warmed up 20-25 psi @ idle, warmed up at WOT 80-85, cruising xcountry driving (fully warmed up) @ 70mph 55psi approx.

If i was to rev 4k plus when cold i dont know where it would really stop b/c i know that aint good for it to heat up so fast, i'd like to hope it wouldnt go beyond 85psi.

BTW i'm using an oil sandwich filter plate, and the Electronic Autometer C2 narrow sweep.

Oh, yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that I have the greddy oil filter sandwitch adapter, and it's leaking a little, so when my tuner installed the gauges, he didnt' use it and tapped into the line instead. Which would explain why my numbers are a little lower, due to the leak at the sandwitch adapter.
