i do not remember what the oil pressure is on these 2AZFE is supposed to be to be honest and i do not run and oil pressure gauge. But my main concern with putting an oil restrictor on it would be starving the turbo and messing it up for sure

Just spoke to someone over at dezod about PTE since they used them in the past on some of thier applications and they said ever since Precision began to make "thier own parts" they have been really sensative as far as oil pressure. I mentioned using the oil restrictor and he said he normally wouldnt on a journal bearing turbo but in the case of it being a Precision turbo and my turbo being out of warrenty i can try to see if that solves the issue. as far as a bit of oil in the cold side he stated that my dirty filter was way too restrictive and causing a sucktion and pulling it from the turbo.

That was it? Btw after I put the new harness in I didn't have a cel until 3 nights ago it came back but I had been driving the car for a while so ud think anything old would. Have been picked up right away. I have to see what it is I havnt had the chance to go but from what I can tell there is no misfire or anything different about the car still drives good and stuff so idk we will c I'm hoping its nothing serious

WELL im glad it worked out for you. i had a cel the whole time i had my fic in my car but it came to be that my fic was faulty. infact when i was at ptuning getting tuned they couldnt get the tune to load on my fic so they used one of theirs and then traced it to mine. i should of got a new fic at that point but i had to learn the hard way. and yea man it was just a bent valve, honestly not even sure i bent it, looks like the little pin that holds the valve on came off, the valve is still stuck in its place and didnt do any damage to the piston so that was good. i will be sending it off today or tomorrow

Good ____ man its not too much damage...and as far as the codes go I quite a few but the bad gas cap one was leading to many of them n then the cam n crack positioning sensor one must of been showing since the those were the pins that broke n I had the resistors in there so it wasn't that I also had some other bs such as evap system purge I dnt remember all of them but like I said the bad gas cap code was cauing quite a few of them. Now what I dnt get is since it is a bad gas cap u wld think that my cel would come back right away but it didn't so its a bit weird. When I check the codes I will post them if its not silly like the gas cap

IT also seems with the Precisions, the more boost you run, the more they smoke. I have a .065 restrictor on mine, and up to 22-24 psi it does fine, no smoke at all really. At 29 psi, it would smoke after a long pull for a few seconds. I have heard from others though that alot of journal bearing turbos have seal bypass issues at that much boost.

After reading this I'm starting to get nervous. I just discovered that my journal bearing went out on my turbo and was about to send it back to Precision to have it rebuilt. Now I'm not so sure that's the best course of action but I'm also at a lost on what other options are available. Anyone have any ideas or should I just send it back to Precision and hope for the best.

Not under warranty and not even sure where to begin looking for an 'authorized dealer', they don't list any on their website as far as I can see. Google search keeps coming up with youtube videos on how to DIY a rebuild or forum posts from other car sites asking the same thing.

At this point I'm starting to toy with the idea of dumping the Precision and getting a Garrett but I don't know, (even toying with the idea of going back NA but I might just be tired)...

Well a local rebuild shop should be able to rebuild the turbo u may want to go on ahead and take the turbo so they can at least check it out so they can tell u if they can rebuild it

Ewwwwww braggistan. The easiest way to figure out a local rebuild shop is to call a local performance shop and be like "hello I was curious as if you could point me in a direction where I could get a precession turbo rebuilt locally" and if they don't know call the next shop. You will find someone.
