Has there been any emission tests done yet for the kit. I would hate to end up buying one and find out that I have to take it off to pass emission tests.

I dont think they will offer any sort of Cat for this turbo kit. So I dont see this kit passing any smog test. I think Dezod is the only company to get a turbo kit to pass a smog test.....I think.

You only need a cat in the exhaust system. And I think Smog only applies to California. Everywhere else is just emissions test (visual to see if you have a cat, and OBDII code read on the computer for Cel's). To which I have passed for the past 3 years on my kit. I have no cel's on my car, and the PTuning kit will not throw a cel either last time I checked. As long as you have the anti-fouler mod, your good to go.

PS...I don't have a Cat either. Visual test just depends on where you go. Some are lazier than others and don't bother to really look.

Yeah, depending on which county you live in here you either have emissions or you don't, I fortunately live in a county that does.

IIRC...the blow-thru setup on the PTuning kit is still cel free.

We have a certain time period before our cars have to go through emission tests but if i am going to invest in a turbo I want to make sure I will not get hassled. They usually do not do visual checks last time I went with my previous car but they do a check with some reader at the end of the tips.

**Update** We're expecting to be able to start shipping out our SS Turbo Kits in about 6 weeks. Those that are interested should certainly take advantage of the pre-order special that we are currently offering. We'll keep everyone updated with any new info. Thanks.

I think it's the only EL manifold that will. If a header can go under the Kami hood (which it can) then this header will too, since it drops down like a header does.

Bump

MrC, can't remember if you said so or not, will the downpipe mate up to an existing 2.5 inch exhaust?

Our turbo kit comes with a full 3" downpipe with a flex-section designed to bolt right to the ptuning 3" exhaust system. So if you already have our exhaust, you're set. But we will probably include an adaptor with a v-band on one end to connect to our 3" downpipe and the other end with include a multiple step-down tube that can be cut at different sections to connect to the factory exhaust or aftermarket exhaust with 2.25"-2.5" tubing.

Ok, cause I don't think I will be able to swing the exhaust before the Redline Event in Nashville. So, I need some sort of configuration that will allow me to bolt up to my current 2.5 inch exhaust. Going to suck, but perhaps I will pick up the exhaust later in the season.

Upgrade when you're ready. but keep in mind you're power output is not going to be the same as a 3" at the same boost pressure.

can you run with an open downpipe? or does whatever sanctioning body that runs that event insist you have a full exhaust?
