Wow, that unit sounds pretty sweet to say the least. Since it is so closely involved with the stock ecu, I would venture a guess that it could end up being one of the very best units for our cars.

as long as it is lower price than AEM "PMS" and runs better than AEM "F/UK" we should be fine.

MUHAHAHA, I'm evil

O....O...O....
I need to change my pants.

This is indeed great news and I can't wait to see some actual test feedback from a somewhat sponsored car....(hint hint)....I would be willing to test it....lol

From what I was told, yes. The test car is due for a NYS inspection here shortly, so we will see for sure.

This is awesome news. I can't wait until the release date and pricing are announced. I dont even have my turbo yet, but I think that I could use this to get a little more out of the mostly stock engine, plus I'm adding exhaust mods soon. So hopefully i'll tune for that as well.

One question though... Unless I missed it, I haven't seen anywhere if this allows control or atleast influence over VVT-i. Is that a possibility with this unit?

I'm aware that it is always running, but there are parameters in which it operates automatically. I'm just wondering if any of the parameters could be altered.

^^ lol yeah its always running but you can tune it.. usually beneficial when running aftermarket cams allows advance and retard

^ That is exactly where I see being able to adjust the parameters would have the most benefit. There may also be some benefit to tweaking the settings even on the stock cam.

yea but who here is cammed NOT I so dont need to advance or retard timing of my vvt-i, imo our vvt-i system really sucks it a constant powerband and its good for speed and power horrible for funnes

lol its just a feature for those who needs it.. cant hurt to have those features.. Stock setup, i dont see a reason to tweak with it.. prolly not much gains and just hurts driveability.. but i dont think our vtti sucks, our tc power band is fine good balance of tq/hp

^ You are probably right, however stock tunes on standard vehicles usually lean towards fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Depending on the tune Toyota has employed, there may be untapped potential. I do like how the stock system balances torque with hp, but I also see what cburglb34 is saying in that its so smooth as to feel uneventful. Theres just no surge because power is applied so seemlessly. Its a good thing in terms of output efficiency but it looses some in the fun department, its just not as gratifying to wrap the tach.

Still in the end I'd rather have seemless power and beat some dork in a modded civic then have the engine feel more powerful at the top and loose or barely beat the other car.
