I would recommend trying just the front. If you decide that you can handle more vibrations, then install the rear. The rear is sort of a pain to install anyways so try the front one first as it takes ten minutes to install.

I would say though that for performance, the rear mount would make the most difference. It has a bracket for the motor and the transmission. This helped the shift feeling out quite a bit.

I personally like it with both mounts installed. I was a bit weary the first week, but I have gotten used to the vibrations, just like I did the noise from the Stiffy. Now I barely notice they are there unless I try to accelerate in too high a gear. I wouldn't change them out at this point. I may try to change out the front mount just out of curiosity.
why was the rear install the hardest (just wondering ...i havent even looked at the mounts so i don't even know what ide be working with)?

Also - I would think that the front would benefit more then the rear.

The rear is hard to get to and has those long studs which make it a pain to get out. There is also a transmission bracket attached to the mount.

I think the rear would help most because of the transmission bracket and it has more mounting points.

Just installed the front motormount in less then 20minutes... The rear will have to wait for a warmer day.

My little review:
Install was cake. Minimal noise, unlike the cheesey Ingalls ETD I had. Vibrations are felt through the dash and floor area at idle till about 1500rpms. After that you dont know they are there. The vibration is nothing to worry about, as they are not extreme at this time.

Drivetrain lash is also completely gone. I can creep through a parking lot in 1st gear and let off the gas and the motor does not buck. A very nice thing for Black friday shoppin. :D

Fitment was 100% perfect. Best bang for the buck... 10x better then the stiffy.

ATTENTION ALL OWNERS!!!

I am very sorry, but we had a slight mixup in these first shipments that is being fixed RIGHT NOW...

We had a big order of polymounts for our MKI MR2's come in, and when I boxed up the mounts for you Scion guys, I accidently put 2 of the wrong polymounts in your box... We have specific mounts designed for each car application, and I just boxed up the wrong ones when I was trying to get everybody there stuff before Thanksgiving. This was just brought to my attention by another user who was installing them and had a lot of trouble...

The 2 mounts that do not come preinstalled in our metal bracket are the incorrect ones. I AM VERY SORRY GUYS We hate to have a silly issue like this on a new project, but the good news is that we have the correct mounts and we are shipping them out to you guys ASAP... When you get them, if you could send us back the 2 mounts that are incorrect I would appreciate that, so we could use them for our other project they are intended for! (We will pay for shipping, don't worry)

I really apologize, the problem is being fixed and it will only delay everybody a couple days, but thank you for your patience and I hope we do not mess up everybody's installations too much

^ Not a problem. Glad I decided to hold off on the rear mount...

You should think about just selling the front mount for the cheap modders out there.

So does that mean none of the mounts are press in? They are complete replacements?

The Front only is a complete replacement. Easiest to install..
The Rear is the press in, a little more difficult.

The factory mount is very ugly. What is that big rubber thing on top of it?

so i drove around with the front mount installed today. the vibrations are there at idle, but nothing horrible..vibration for me goes away right at 1k rpm, after that it's like stock.

zer0 pretty much explained it quite well, and the ability to cruise down a parking lot in first without any sort of bogging/jerking was greaaat in the insane traffic black friday brought.

great fitment, straight forward install write up, i'd definitly recommend it.

So, how much are these mounts again? Don't feel like going through 9 pages.

If I remember correctly the prices were never mentioned publicly on the forum. I'm sure speed-source would gladly let you know if you contact them via pm or email..

i checked his site and for other cars they are less than $90 so they should be that price. wouldnt seem fair for them to be much more expensive that that. i hope its at least cheaper than a stiffy.

Same price basically. I paid $165 shipped for mine. You can goto their website for contact information. This thread is just a review now. I started it for interest and there was a lot. This is not a sale thread.

Default Installed!

Finally,

Well the mounts are installed. I just wanted to thank Speed Source because I was sent the wrong parts and my car was in the air and the mount was out and cut and Speed Source stepped up and got me the correct mount the next day and I was able to finish. The rear mount is a pain in the a** to install. There is a little vibration but not bad and it much better than that metal, high pitch sound you hear with the engine damper installed. To everyone else have fun installing the mounts.

Thanks again Speed Source.
