Default Supercharged 1320ft results. 4/28

The motor is offically broke. 3 cyls have no compression. I installed the s/c and they said it dosent matter. They will warranty it!!!!!!!!!!

I ran my s/c'd tc last night and didnt do so well. I expected a little more. Car has the 9lb pulley, bosh 110, megan header, zpi crank pulley, and 18" wheels. The best mph was 93, and the best time was 14.94. The best 60ft is 2.18. Does this seem right? I honestly expected a little more mph and lower et. Im doing some research now on water injection and possibly a 10-11 lb pulley. Opinions and comments are welcome.... Scott

with those mods you shoulda had a top speed of about 96- 97 mph...what points were you shifting at? Your 60 ft time isnt terrible cause of wheel spin, but makes me think you might have bogged a lil off the line?

shifting 6000-6100. All three runs were almost identical. Also a friend tried it out and pulled the same numbers.

do you consider yourself a fast ____er? Do you put the clutch all the way to the floor when you shift? Did your tires break loose in 2nd gear? I see so many people instantly shift the car when their tires are spinning in 2nd once it comes close to the redline, but in reality you gotta hold it there for a second cause eventually the wheels will bite and drop back in RPM's and then you got another few hundred RPM's to pull.

no, those times are dissapointing, i agree.
simplyscion is simply correct. if you want those faster trap times, you have to master that first and second gear. from what ive heard, and what simply scion is saying to. call out to desertheat, who ran a 14.3, maybe you could get some tips? the tc really is a good "drag" car because of the shorter gears, but it bites you in the ___ when the tires just want to spin all day. also, what rubbers are you using? i didnt see anything in your list. if you can spend around 800 bucks for tires, ill be willing to bet that you can get down to around desertheats times. the times you were doing sound like stock sc times, maybe you have belt slip on the pully?? i would say dyno your car, and if your not around 210, 215 then somethings obviously wrong. my 2 cents, but dont give up hope.

Yeah man, those numbers do sound more like stock numbers. What tires are you on? Stock suspension?

If I were you I would go back and try it again. Drag racing is all about the launch and the shifting. I bet if you keep practicing and experimenting a few different methods on the track you can probably knock off at least a couple of tenths.

Here is one tip for you., try lowering your tire pressure if you are running cheaper all season, or an average tire brand.

Im on trd springs, and have dunlops 901r's i think. As far as shifting. That could be an issue but from what i remember, the shift were fast and smooth. Next step is dyno and see from there.

it sounds like you know what your doing on your shifting, i suspect its in your launch, and your prob not at full power.

it could still be the belt slipping a lil bit...we will never know until he hooks up a boost gauge. Also, it is a kind of light 60' time with F/I...did you start off clean off the tree or did you bog

What was the 1/8th mile ET and trap speed?

And a 2.1 60' is not bad at all with 18s.. Another member on this forum ran a 14.3 with the SC and the same exact 60' time.

I don't think this is a launch problem at all.

dam bro, look under your hood and see if you got black dust all under the pulley and on your ABS module around the area near the pulley.

I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see a SC'ed tC in the 13s.

Currently the best is 14.3.. If you can do better then go ahead..

I hear alot of SC'ed tC owner's say that their car is good for 13s, yet no one has a time slip better then a 14.3.. And that was on his best run, he said he was averaging 14.5-14.6
