Default TC supercharger bracket is loose

After removing my supercharger this weekend to do a rebuild, I noticed the transmission mount bracket for the SC is loose. I could not tighten. After removing the bracket there are metal sleeves inside the mounting holes that are slightly longer than the holes, preventing the bracket from snugging up tight to the transmission. As a result, the bracket has some play which seems odd. Is this normal?

Mine does the same thing, it may be possible to take it to a machine shop and get some new inserts put into it but i haven't had time yet to pull mine out to get it fixed. So i would say this is a normal condition

That is supposed to be there and its supposed to allow for movement, your s/c will fail if you get rid of that movement. S/c alignment will never be perfect and i'm sure there is some expansion there when things heat up, that is why its setup like that.

Thanks for the quick response all, sounds like one less thing to have to fix...
