Default TRD reflash price for s/c

Has anyone here installed their own s/c and brought their chip to the dealer to have it reflashed for the s/c? How much was it and how long did it take? Any help would be great

I don't know but I think zpi can flash your chip if you send it to them.

Yes I own the reflash tool and have a map module if you need it as well. I offer to flash for you at $50 plus s/h both ways. Or you can rent the tool and I will send it to you for $550 plus s/h both ways, with $500 back when it is returned safely and in working condition.

I have never tried the reflash on a camry ecm. I honestly couldn't tell you if it would work. My first assumption would be no, however it may work. If you want to be a guinea pig for it then I have no problem trying it, but I cannot guarantee any results or that I can even reflash it. I have not had the camry ecm out of a car yet so I have not had a chance to see it's connectors.

05+ tC and an 03 Camry? They're only 2 years apart and completely different cars with different engines and drivetrains.

03 camry's have the essentially the same engine as a tc. They are both 2azfe's.

What exactly is the reflash tool anyway?

I'm a tech and plan on supercharging but don't want to pay for the install as I have the tools and knowledge to do it myself. just curious as to what it consists of and if you have to have the specific toyota tool or if you can use a laptop, scan tool ect.

any help is great thanks.

The reflash tool is a special tool available through spx. It is only used to reflash Tc ecm's for the supercharger and nothing else. It serves no other purpose. Basically it is just a tool that you can plug a map module in and in 10 minutes your ecm is reflashed. Hope this helps. Good luck with the install. It is quite easy. I did my first one in just over 6 hrs.

The dealer will need to have the reflash tool. Most do not. Also I bet there will be a charge. I would assume if a shop had the tol they would charge 1 hour labor minimum to reflash it. Probably more if they have to remove the ecm. Your best bet is to send it to someone who has the tool. I reflash them and so does ZPI. Not sure about anyone else though.

We have only had one customer here buy the TRD s/c and I ended up installing it and doing the re-flash for the guy because Toyota was nice and sent our dealer the reflash tool to borrow for a day. Like "Scion06sc" said it took me about 6 hours for the whole job.

if you dont do it you will crack your ring lands and piston rings due to the excessive timing that the n/a tC runs
