Default Turbo help, Confused after research

I have been researching turbos for over a year and really want to boost my 06 tC. I read that you can run 5 psi with out an intercooler, tune, upgraded inj, or management. Is this true? If so I will be stoked. Its not that I don't plan on getting all of these. Its just the up front expenses. Possible or no? Thanks for the good or bad news.

you can with a small turbo but you will run lean and will risk blowing your motor. no one will recommend but it has been done. i ran 5psi with an evo III 16g with no management but i had a fat intercooler at least.

if you plan on getting everything else anyway might as well just wait so you dont risk blowing your motor and having to put thousands more into your car. just pick up a used kit if you cant afford a new one. thats what i did and its great

would it be more reasonable to get an intercooler with the kit and skip the inj fuel manag and tune?

dont go there dood. many people have done this, and failed catastrophically. dont try to be the lucky winner who may possibly get away with it.

look into the classifieds and there are plenty of people selling kits that come with injectors and management. be patient

I would NOT recommend this. I had the ZPI stage 0 at first and yes it worked but it was far from perfect. It ran nice and rich but the setup was so exact that even just adding an intercooler the AFR leaned up about 2.5 points to the mid 12's to low 13's for AFR. I would say if you got a ZPI stage 0 it might be ok and only if it is all original. Now personally I would just buy a used turbo kit from here as they are dirt cheap.

to answer your question of is it possible? yes it is possible.

Now to propose a question to you. do you think it's wise? the answer is no it is not a wise decision.

What's your goal? Budget? Ideas?
Even if you were convinced about getting a cheap kit there are not many stage 0 kits out there and piecing one together would cost as much as buying a used kit on classifieds.
