I used to race professionally so i know when stuff like that happens as crappy as it is you just have to sit back and laugh and make the best of it. Which looks like you did. Funny fix for a horrible problem~

That's got to suck. 4hrs away can be tough, so if you are in the process of making a trip that far and you are racing, be prepared for failures that might occur by towing the car there.

Thats one reason I roll with the "China chargers" - I keep and extra turbo & maf in the trunk for long trips
