Us Nitrous Guys
I was woundering who else was running nitrous. I was looking to figure out some problems I have been having with the car after each time I run the car at the track.
I have been running a 55shot on my car and I am using the ZEX Kit. Everytime I spray the car, after the race the car shuts down and turns off. I have no control and nothing works at all. After about 2 minutes or so I start the car up and it runs perfect. I know it has to do with our stock ECU and it noticing something is not right.
Has anyone else had a problem like this or something else. I have the nitous system still half way hooked up (since I am selling her) and I want to try and figure this out before I take the whole system out of the car.....
Thanks guy.....

my friend had the same problem with his civic.. except it started back on after 5-10 minutes. after he tuned his car with a piggy-back, it ran fine with no shut downs.
consider an emanage or something.

Where is your nozzle located at? Is it in the intake? If so.. is before or after the MAF? If it's before the MAF maybe your freaking the MAF sensor out and that is why your car shuts down.
Its after the MAF. It is all done right, I dont need any tuning on a 55shot and the car handles it fine. I do have a S-AFC2 but I have yet to tune it. I was just looking for what people think is going wrong, not "How" and "Dont"

ProShopXB I was not talking about you. You had a good point about the MAF because that would mess up the ECU with a crazy air reading.....
I was talking about.....rhythmnsmoke.....
What dose that have to do with the topic.....

^^Ditto, you shouldn't be spraying without some type of manage.

Dude, I wasn't being an a$$ or anything....damn, I swear some of you get your panties all in a bunch just because a person makes a suggestion (to which all you had to reply with is I already have a S-AFC).
I was not trying to be an a#$ either, I am just tired of putting something about nitrous on the forums and people same the samething. "You are going to blow your motor" or "Why would you run the car with nitrous with no tune".....
So, dose anyone have any ideas on whats going on with the car or ecu?

Neither should be a problem... any chance your wiring into the TPS wire got messed up? I just don't logically understand why the engine would not work for even minutes, then work again... and why it'd just shut off...
The ECU is detecting a major glitch somewhere. Do you have an CEL codes, and if you do, what did the scan tool read? Also, when you run it at the track, do you know what AF values you're reading?
Nitrous doesn't ALWAYS need a tune because it's not just air. It's an air/fuel combo that also cools the motor. You tune to make the stock tune make as much safe HP as possible with the nitrous.
A 55 shot should be fine on the tC motor. It's lower compression so it's not too bad. If you get severe knock the ECU may just be shutting it down thinking something's broken.
Basically...
IF CEL codes... which ones?
A/F ratio?
What kind of gas are you using?
What is the ambient air temp?
You may need a computer to pull back some timing about 2-3 degrees to play it a little safer if the ECU is reading knock.

55 shot, I doubt you would blow the motor. As mentioned do you have a wideband to monitor what the A/F is like after you get done spraying? Seeing as how the car could possibly get richer under spray. Also, are you running colder plugs?
