Washing engine bay
as some of you may know, my engine bay has suffered some dirty circumstances. (ran through a couple big puddles cuz i had to get home)
and i need to clean the damn thing. what should i cover up before i spray the whole thing with a pressure washer? it currently looks like this.

I Wash my motor daily as i have a kaminari hood with the vent!
Just cover your intake... Go get purple power from adavanced auto parts.. spray it all over. let sit for about 5 min and pressure wash off.. Once its dry i always mist the complete engine bay with armor all and let it soak in for about 30 min and wipe away what ever is left at that point!
It looks brand new everytime!

I thought if you sprayed cold water on your hot engine block it would crack...no?
I would make sure you COMPLETELY dry off the center and impeller side of your turbo, as it will rust up real bad...my impeller side is coated, but my center section is not and it's rusted up now.

Watching.. I'm getting ready to do the same thing.
I've already come up with a game plan in my head.. and it's pretty much what Elevation TC mentioned - except I'm not using Armor All at the end.. I hate that slick and greasy look.

I wash my motor too regularly, I used to cover the intake but not anymore.. just dont pressure wash and put soap on the intake area.. i've been doing this for awhile without problems.. But I think I should stop doing it when the motor is hot
ya i need to learn how to do this cuz mine is filthy.. my engine block is black from my dumptube aiming toward it and not the ground lol.. im thinking a pressure hose will make a wire or line pop off though.
my suggestion is to use low pressure when spraying, and be careful of the chemicals that you spray on your engine. meaning make sure its aluminum safe and plastic safe. Iv made the mistake of using an industrial degreser on some aluminum pistons and left them for 8 hours to soak. when i came home the stuff had eaten my pistons. so read the instructions....lol
ok, i took off the intake filter, the maf sensor and left everything else like that.
then sprayed the sITTTTT out of it. bwahha
im a risk taker i know i know. but it looks clean now!
hey...what do you guys think of diamond pleated sparco replica seats?
im getting bored at home hahah
