The safest you can do is wash it when its cold, before it was driven.. and check your wires and harnesses too if theyre good, who knows, rats have eaten your wires

Why not hand wash it. Spray some cleaning solution where you want it then wipe it off. It s really not rocket science.

hand washing takes long and doesnt removed dirt that well on a heavily dirty engine.. of course spraying plus hand wash is best

Good old engine degreaser. Let it soak for a while, then take a wire brush to it.

I would just head over to your local auto parts store and pick any one of them up. Some of them might even tell you on the label if they're diluted or not... try and get the more potent stuff. Just don't get it on paint or any rubber hoses..

Black Magic has Engine Shine

http://www.blackmagicshine.com/produ...1-engine-shine

I tried it on Tuesday. I think I was too careful and didn't spread evenly. I have some burnt spots on my exhaust heat shield. But other than that looks okay. I used spray bottle for the water. Didn't want to spray with the hose.

But cleaning wipes from Armor All for interior works better and even gives a nice shine.

always read the label and make sure that its safe for plastics and aluminum. ther is alot of degresers out ther that are not aluminum safe such as purple power.
