Default What do I need to run Water/Meth?

Thanks to everyone that is helping me out with my 12psi setup for the s/c. But in the mean time I want to run the water/meth but have a few questions:
1. Do I need anything like a unichip to contoll when the mixture is injected?
2. Do I need a boost gage? Running an NST pulley
3. What is a good kit with everything I need? I'm going to try to do the whole thing myself so I don't want to run into any problems with it coming on to early and back firing.
4. Finally, when refilling, do I mix it up myself. Someone I work with told me that windshield washer fluid would be the same thing.

Thanks again

Windshield washer fluid works great because it's already pre-mixed water/alcohol, it's cheap, and you can buy it damn near anywhere.

IMO, spearco kit is the best out right now for $400. You can get a boost gauge but you're boost won't be changing with the injection kit. The spearco comes with everything needed for tuning.

dont use the windshield washer fluid...theres detergents in there that will clog the nozzle over time...distilled water/methanol is your best bet...you could even buy premix solution by the case at snowperformance...I think its like $30 for 4 jugs. I have the spearco kit...I was gonna install it this week but something came up and I wont be able to do it on the day I wanted to. I have a few more things I need to get like the GM map sensor with harness, new tank and a few other misc things.

if you use washer fluid expect bad stuff for going cheap. That's true for anything.

Washer Fluid won't raise the octane mixture, it will only lower EGTs. Not as effective.

1. Yes, a Unichip or eManage will help with the tuning needed for the Meth.
2. Boost gauge cant hurt, also good to monitor. You can also see if your belt is slipping... Just get one.
3. Ive seen the RippMods BoostCooler kit make impressive #'s with eManage tuning, full exhaust (header, spipe, catback) 238whp on 6psi.
4. Goto your local FORD dealer and pick up some Motorcraft windshield washer concentrate. That has 100% Meth. Just mix it 50/50 with water and go.

Spearco sounds good but before I order I have a few quick questions. I don't want to spend the money on a fuel management chip yet, so how do you have it setup to come on? I don't want to punch the gas and then set off a big backfire. Like I said before, I'm going to try this install so I want to know what I'm getting into. If you have pictures posted somewhere, I'd really like to see the setup and how you have everything mounted.

Well I can tell you this much. With the Spearco kit that was installed on a Z nothing else was changed at all. With just the kit installed the AFR went richer but power output did not change at all. You don't NEED to tune for the water meth kit. The kit controller allows you to vary that size of your shot and its start point independent of the EMS. You COULD add some more timing to pick up power if you wanted to but its not necessary. As for what to use a 50/50 mix of HEET and water should do it.

So..... will we see a gain out of the water/meth setup without tuning the timing. I can see why we'd get a gain out of the whole thing if we advance the timing with detonation being held back. What I'm trying to get at is will the computer advance the timing by it self??? I would be really let down not to see a gain out of this. Thanks for all the input.

if you are running a 12psi pulley you need to get management. there is no question about that ....that is fact. the trd reflash can handle the 9.5psi but no higher. And yes - you REALLy should get an air/fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge to make sure things are running the way they should.
