I still consider around 350 is about where the limit is.. although i would agree that a motor could last 400sh on good tune and no detonation.. theres a lot of players involved, and failure become less unpredictable the further you push it. I've seen a bent rod at around 350s too and wasnt noticed until they opened up the motor for the planned build.

I bet, 400-450 could be done for a couple pulls with some really good tuning, race gas.. But i promise you, it wont last long.

I daily drove mine like that at 362. it lasted a long time!

The oem motor was engineered for 150-200 hp..

what do you really think is going to happen when they double it!

im knocking on 400s door i daily drive it at 11 pounds at the track its will be at 15-16 psi member at altitude my fic reads 12.1 actual pressure not 14+ so 16 psi is really only 13-14 at altitude a guy here is at 380whp on stock block has been for 2 years and he tracks it very very often

Are y'all to young to remember ScionSpeed? They were running like 103 octane making 417whp on a stock motor. Of course if you drove around daily it would be fine, cause you are not going to be in boost until you smash on it. So anyone could do 400 - 500whp pull and talk about how they been driving for months even years on it, but fail to mention that they don't frequently open up that throtle. Any one of a wot pulls could. Be the last.

It seems that the tuner still disagrees on what he thinks are blocks are able to handle, this is what he had to say.

Alpha
Info that's true is people actually trying and testing things. Not talking about them or theorizing. That's how the Honda and Toyota guys are where they are today making 500+whp on stock blocks and 800+whp on stock blocks. Unfortunately the tC doesn't have a great plug and play engine management, a lot of r&d done or efficient Turbo kits, yet.

LOL he has no idea what he is talking about. Ptuning makes the sickest kit out. And they tested it on their OWN TRACK CAR. we dont have a great PNP management? AEM EMS? HALTECH? wtf is he talking about. Nobody is making 500+ on this stock motor and actually using the power.. and will NEVER be able to.

i believe this thread on tampa racing is asking about BLOCK strength and not internal strength. We all know 2fast4u is at 600+whp on the stock block and sleeves.....so.......i believe we still don't quite know yet...

talking about just the block, yeah it will hold good amount of power.. even chris rado is still having the stock sleeves but w/ great great tuning.. but then the other has to be replaced, often when the internals like piston and rods break it will cause damage to the block as well

Rado pushes 900+whp on a Non-sleeved 2az. Their drag tC is non-sleeved also. It makes 2200hp or something ridiculous like that.

The 6sec Drag tC.....USES....dun dun DUNNNN...a 2az..

True about the motors though...they have gone through quite a few. But at the same time....They are pushing power to cause a burn out at 160+mph. Don't think either of us will be doing 160+mph burnouts on a track down the straight aways...lol.
