in adition to being the pinicale of performance when it comes to turbo kits. the turbo toyotas kit also releases special pheremones that make you irrisistable to women. but it has its major dissadvantages as i am now involved in numerous child suport lawsuits.

OK, so it looks as though this is turning into a Dezod versus TT battle.

Let's talk maxed out. What output will both put out?

Always does....which is a good thing. Plus if you look around a bit, Dezod and TT are here supporting you guys. Granted you have other options besides us, but where are they???

Not a fair question to be honest. Until Dezod releases there EL style manifold there is no debate...and you wont get an argument from either one of us about a log vs and EL style..we both know better.

There is no debate log vs log either...unless you want to talk fabrication vs fabrication or fabricated vs cast...but thats not a hard one too figure out.

Todd

x2... that's not a valid question since you can upgrade both kits to larger and larger amounts of power..

OK, i don't want to light any fires.. Just want to have a logical discussion on the Turbo options and the facts that back them up.

Are you serious?? I coulda sworn I heard low 12s by now.. which leads me to believe 11s were already hit..

They have been, just not on a daily-driven street tC that an average person would be comfortable driving in traffic...........

Let's start from ground up.

Stock block and built-ons (even though I myself would want to rebuild), what kind of numbers will that produce @ low psi?

what turbo
what manifold
what size dp
what size exhaust

most kits all make around 300whp +/- 10-20whp with a good ol T3/T4 2.5 dp/s-pipe and matching exhaust or 3"

The only difference is the log comes on really fast and makes pk torque rather quickly.

A log puts allot of backpressure on the motor which is one thing (even though I offer a log style manifold) most don't think about when purchasing a kit.

An EL is a more efficient design and backpressure isn't an issue like it is for a log.

This is why I don't recommend logs for autos, and if you run one on an auto to use the largest size ar housing you can.

An EL style manifold has a more linear/broader powerband...plus at 10psi it hasn't come into its own yet.

An EL style will offer you more performance per psi and will allow more room for growth in the future.

We'll start there.

Regards-

Todd

just throwin this out there, but I LOVE my turbo toyotas kit. It's got the best looking manifold, hands down. I put down 252whp at 5psi and 320whp at 8psi, and this is my daily driver. Havne' tracked it yet, but I should get 13s easy on the stock block.
Click on my "Turbo Pics" link in my sig to see just how georgeuse that manifold is, and that's the old style! New ones even better!

haha I thought this was going to become a pi$$ing match...but very informative. Just when I was thinking the simple was for me...So a log will basically cause more back pressure on 2 of the cylinders in general?? And is it right by saying you can run the same boost and be safer with an EL?

Not only will you be safer with the same boost with an EL, but you should get more power as well.
The thing about the log style is that the turbo will spool up quicker, but if your gonna be pushing over 300whp, it will actually hurt off the line in our FWD cars...and from a roll, it doesn't matter cause in 3rd at 40mph, we are revign high enought to kick the turbo in good.

Hey Todd...can't blame you for trying. I thought this was going somewhere to!
