I have been researching, and really I think it is all a matter of what you feel is best. Personally, I will be running mobil1 0w-40 for this winter when I change it in a few weeks then I will be running Rotella T Synthetic 5w40. From my research, I have found that having a higher weight oil will protect better from sheering and heat. So I will run these from now while I am n/a and will continue to when I am boosted. Only downside to running a heavier weight is lower fuel economy and you might loose a tiny bit of power as it is harder for the engine to rotate through it. Research, get on bobistheoilguy.com, and find out what would be best for you .

There are lots of opinions on this but I prefer 5w30 for Mid Atlantic winters and 10w30 for summer. I don't like 0w** oils because of the thin base stock nor do I like large viscosity ranges like 5w40 because oils use polymers to acheive multi-viscosity grades. The wider the range, the more polymers and polymers can break down and create sludge. If I ran my car harder I might consider 10w40 or 15w40 in the summer. I run nothing but full synthetic in my car but I run nothing but "non-energy conserving" dino 15w40 in my V-twin motorcycle because of the wet-clutch.
