How do you figure that? My s/c'ed car has great, smooth, predictable power across the entire power band.

...and its 'centrifugal'.

I bet it will too ... but it also has more power and higher boost all for a higher price.

One of the big challenges with high hp turbo cars (especially fwd cars) is getting the curve as flat as possible to keep traction. Boost peaks kill traction unless you back off. High boost s/c cars generally don't have that problem due to their relatively flat curve.

Plain and simple two identical cars with identical hp/tq numbers one with an s/c and the other with a properly sized turbo will excel and accel in different areas but still hit the the same ultimate goal.
It just so happens that on this platform (the tC) it isn't as easy to build the only available s/c unit up as it is to build any given turbo kit on the market. ...blame that on redadily available parts.

The car really does lack midrange power as compared to a turbo. You're car may be smooth and predicatable but that's not saying it has midrange. When people talk power curves and numbers thing can really get crazy. A simple example was when I had my fully modded s/c tc up against my friends turbonetics (stock) tc, both pulling 230whp in a Dynojet, just flat out couldn't keep up with him.

One you're only seeing 3-3.5psi untill you get past 4rpms. My dyno of the s/c was very linear. Even Icenine with his 311whp s/c'd tC has a crazy spike of power that goes from 250whp at 5,500rpms to just over 300whp at redline, that's a split second of power. This is what I mean by midrange. A turbo and s/c may potentially have the same peak whp but that midrange hump will get you going much sooner while still pulling equally hard at the peak.

I'm not downing the s/c.... It's a different animal and should be treated as such. I liked it. I probably would have went crazy with a build and full standalone if the thing would have held up. A lot of people say it's not worth the money but this is a full kit that will take almost a second off of your 1/4mile (with supporting mods) for $2k and still keep your warranty.

even if your S/Cer is stock you can not get an extend warranty with your car.

That makes sense in general terms of turbo vs s/c.

I think as far as this platform goes the intentional 'soft' build and lack of aftermarket support are really what hurt the potential of the s/c.
