Thats weird you had so much problem with it cracking. I have had mine which has probly about 30K on the mani and it has no vertical cut and I havent had any sort of cracking. (Knock on wood) COuld they of used different kind of material?

iam thinking they had to of used a different kind of material or something. i dont understand why they put the flange of the turbo and manifold different than all other turbos. it looks like ill have to either redo the whole setup with a new turbo and manifold and just redo the downpipe and intercooler. or get a custom one made.

Bite the bullet and get a new manifold and downpipe. Stop wasting money on getting it rewelded or wasting time trying to figure it out. Your prolly getting really frustrated and ____ed with all the crap from this manifold. I know there is a trubonetics manifold and downpipe for sale on the classifieds. Or even find a ebay treadstone copy mnaifold and downpipe. Its cast and you wont have the problems your having.

the problem with getting a new manifold and downpipe is the fact i will have to get a new turbo and a new intercooler.. its hard to explain why. look in my garage and at the engine pics it will show you why iam saying this. the flange is 90 degress turned compared to all other manifolds out there.

yea i understand. Its just with all the hassle your going through it seems you could benefit from a nicer set-up and the piece of mind of not havign to put up with the crap kit that zpi put together. I mean they havent been in business for 3yrs so you got no way of gettign a replacement other than a used one. You would have to go custom or new set-up. It sucks man. I just wish you luck in what you do. But IMHO save the headache and go with a new manifold downpipe and turbo. The intercooler piping will work still with another log style manifold just a few minor mods. But that what couplers and small pieces of pipe are for.

I'm waiting for someone to scream out p-tuning...lol

Iv got nothing against p-tuning kit...looks killer and i hear great fitment but pricey
dezod isn't all that bad and a cheaper alternative
there are a few others..

here is what i would do if money was the issue and the mani just keeps cracking

new manifold that a 16g turbo will bolt to
use the old down pipe, cut it up and weld to fit
cut ic pipes and fit em with a couple of couplers

theres the problem they stopped making manifolds that the 16g turbo will bolt onto because of the way the flange is.

Well there are some turbo kits in the classifieds! Honestly see if you can get a custom manifold made!

That's the opposite of my experience. Cracked more than once without a vert cut in the flange. After the cut was made never cracked again.

There were no "other turbos" around when ZPI kits were first introduced. They were like the second turbo kits out.

What about buying a log style (like dezod) manifold and cutting off the t3 flange and putting on a td04 flange on it? Youd just have to rework your downpipe a bit and i bet the ic piping will be damn close

yeah that would work...just cut the flange off and if the hole isnt too big for the other flange just take it to a muffler shop and have it welded. its an idea
