Default ZPI out, S1 in...

I finally had my car back today with the new turbo installed by Freed Engineering here in MD. The old kit was a ZPI stage 1. Replaced parts include...

Garrett T3/T04E-57 Trim,
Dezod Motorsports Xtreme Turbo Manifold,
Dezod Motorsports S1 Downpipe,
AEM Tru-Boost Controller
AEM FIC,
DW 550 Injectors,
AEM Fuel Pump
AEM Fuel Rail
Mishimoto Fan Kit

I'm taking the car back tomorrow to have a new custom charge pipe installed with the MAF (BT) relocated on the pipe and a new Turboxs BOV, since my old HKS apparently has leaks. Also going to get the baffled Mishimoto catch-can installed as well, since I needed the car and they ran out of time to get it on. Another small issue was the existing EGT probe for the wideband had to be disconnected because it was welded to the bung on the old downpipe(???). I ordered a new probe and a new bung was added to the new exhaust manifold, so hopefully Ill get the probe soon and can install it. Freed got a drive able tune on the car-even though the MAF was giving them some fits. So I am expecting better results on the next pass with the new parts and am hoping for an increase in boost from 4.5lbs to 6lbs.

Default Pics

Here is a pic of the install and a pic of the dyno-sheet (Dynojet). The Car ran on 93 octane @ 4.5lbs of boost. I am going to take off the valve cover this weekend and polish it, so don't mind the crappy paint job from the previous owner.

Thanks! I am hoping things finally come together after tomorrow, then I can look forward to phase II in December.

More power at 4.5 PSI on a pig rich tune than a TRD S/C on 7 PSI

Nice power band too. TQ curve looks very nice. Well done.

Kind of a strange couple days with getting sick, and then exploring a possible stand alone ems for the car, after the MAF relocation and new charge pipe. Man the dollars rack up fast sometimes. As of right now the FIC is working after some savvy rewiring, and the car is supposed to be getting a dyno at 6lbs. I should have it back tonight, so we'll see.

If anyone is interested, I have the ZPI turbo down-pipe, and manifold (small crack in weld) off the car. Shoot me a PM if you think you might have a need, and ill send you some pics.

Is this on a stock exhaust? If so then those are some great numbers. Also the recirculated dump and stock exhaust would be so sleeper.

Nope. There is an aftermarket 3" exhaust. However I do know at the time there was two leaks at a couple of the clamps. I replaced them a few days later.

Regardless, power curves look good. Should be fun to drive.

It is. Main goal was definatley accomplished. Next im working on the cooling (radiator, new hoses, thermostat,etc...) system, and then well throw in a new tranny & clutch. Really at this point I could use more insight on guiding me with the rest of my build and achieving 400/400 maintaining good drive ability.
