Default Free "Basic" enclosure designs..

I'm offering up some free enclosure designs if you guys want them. I'll provide a sketchup image with full dimensions and post it up here. This is not a box building service or anything like that. I simply make the design, hook you up with the dims,
and you build it on your own. I've designed and built quite a few enclosures for myself, am MECP certified (like that even matters) and can provide plenty of references over on RealmofExcursion if you guys have any doubts.(my username is cxa0897 for those who are curious)

I'm only offering MDF designs, not dealing with fiberglass since getting dims for it is a pita, and ill offer sealed/vented enclosures. I can also provide 4th order and parallel tuned 6ths, but they are time consuming, so I'm not making any promises there since i work and am in school.

Here's a few examples of what I've done recently over on ROE, and this is pretty much what you can expect to get from me

Very basic vented enclosure design for a Mojo 15

Slightly more advanced vented enclosure design for 2 SA 12s

A compact box ill be using when my SA8s arrive

etc etc.

I just enjoy making these, and it never hurts to build up a portfolio of enclosure designs, so let me know what you need. I run all of my designs through modeling software first and then make the design from there based on the max dimensions given to me and/or preferences

I am not charging for these drawings, and do not provide any box building services or anything like that. I do not have the time to build these, so don't even bother asking. I barely have enough time to build my own enclosures.

if you do want a design i need the following information:

car its going into
either max dimensions, or preferred dimensions
if its going into a trunk make sure to measure the trunk opening and let me know that also
model and quantity of subs
power being supplied
types of music you listen to
whether you want spl, sql, or sq
any other preferences you have, tuning, sub/port orientation etc
a link to the T/S parameters would be awesome too, so i dont have to waste time searching for them ;)

if you do not know what tuning you want or orientations ill make my best judgment on it based on the other info you provide. I will also let you know if i feel your preferences are poor, i.e. requesting a 47 hz tuning is not a good idea.

I know these designs and the process is very time consuming, and any design program is expensive too. So I thank you for providing this service for free to the ScionLife community.

another great example of passing it on - giving a tree

Thanks.

so to confirm this, if I say I am looking for a sub box to fit behind my rear back seat in the tC, to fit 2 8" subs and one 6.5" and I don't want it to be taller than 10" you can draw dimensions to match? if so this is cool!

(I don't want a sub box with those dimensions, I was just throwing numbers out there)

surely. dont know why you want two 8s and a 6.5 but i can make it work lol

ive gotten all the programs for free, so i didnt have to shell anything out for this, but it can be very time consuming like you mentioned. a real basic box is a matter of a few minutes, but once things go beyond a basic rectangle it starts to take a lot more time.

Ill try to stay on top of this thread, if you put something up and i dont respond within in a day or so, send me a pm. if i dont respond to that, it probably means im not doing these anymore

the 45 is optional, but it will really help with reducing noise and help a little bit with spl since it smooths air flow in the port.

Is there anyway it can be smaller? I forgot what the minimal vented was, these cars have no trunk space =(

Min was around 1 cube. It will sacrifice a bit of spl, but I can make it a more compact square if you want to preserve more of the hatch. I'll draw that up tonight after work.

You could also just do a rear seat delete to fit your enclosure like I had to :p

this one is a tad more complex, but will save a ton of room for you

sub firing back, port firing towards the passenger side.

the port is going to require the two walls, and a top piece which will be L shaped to cover it, which will run all the way to the front wall.

dimensions would be as such

your designs look awesome, thanks for offering up this service. I was wondering about the dimensions for an enclosure that would go in place of the stock sub on a tC1, a stealth box I think they're called. It would be a 12" kenwood kfc-w12ps I believe. http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...fers/KFC-W12PS
