* tC : HVAC / Climate Control LED Conversion Guide

Well, I finally completed both the HVAC and the guage LED swaps. Here's my problem:
The HVAC is annoyingly and obviously BRIGHTER than the gauge cluster. I have the gauge resistor kit with me, and I assume this would make it closer to the brightness of the HVAC (if not the same), but is there any confirmation on this? I don't want to waste my time if they are still going to be significantly different in brightness.
I want to dim the HVAC cause its so bright, but when I get it to a particular level, the gauges are way to dim. This is buggin' me.
Any suggestions? I guess the answer is "just do the resistor swap in the gauges"?

Gauge cluster resistor will make it little bit more brighter, but HVAC will be little bit more brighter...
Since you can't make gauge cluster anymore brighter, you'll have to dim the HVAC..
There are couple of different way to lower the brightness..
- Stick a paper
- Change out the resistor to a higher value(higher the resistence, lower the brightness for the LED)

Ok I did everything on the hvac but now everything but the climate led's (312 & 313) and the LCD are not lighting up... anyone have an idea as to why or what I need to check because everything looks good and I have gone through time after time and its still not working

Fastest way to diagnose the problem is post the picture of your installation..
Did you check if you didn't over heated the LED
Make sure to test the LED if they light up....
What color LED did you use for 312 and 313??

Yea to the best of my knowledge everything is where is should be and on 312 and 313 I used 1 blue and 1 red in accordance with the lower blue and red leds on the hvac.
I swapped the gauge cluster and everything was perfect no overheating leds and no lights out whatsoever, just the damn hvac lol... I might give it another go on wed,

Ok, so I knew this would happen.
After finishing the HVAC a few weeks ago, finally the clock started giving me issues. It was a nice bright blue, and now....a dim dark teal color. Obviously something is wrong with either the resistor or one of the lights. I have a strong feeling it is the resistor.
Does anyone know where I can get that particular resistor or one that will work at a local shop? Does somewhere like radio shack carry this? Any hints toward what type of store might? Or does someone want to send me one in an envelope and save me hours of pain and suffering?

Make sure your LED is not fried..
Sometime over heating the LED will cause to fail prematurely...
Try to swap it out with new LED and see...

I haven't messed with this yet, mainly because I don't have any resistors or LEDs to try out. Here is some new information. Now there are basically 5 or so levels of brightness and they are:
1) Real Bright (good and what I want)
2) Dim Bright
3) Dim
4) Extremely dim
5) Not on at all
And the LCD goes between these levels, but mainly stays around 3, 4, and 5. However! I can press on areas of the HVAC, and it will go to different "levels" of brightness. Sometimes it will even stay in that level for a while before I touch it again or hit a bump.
It seems like this information would be helpful for diagnosing the problem. Any smarties out there have any clues?

Also most people who use two soldering iron..
What I do is.. heat up one side and quickly heat the other side and it comes right off..
Back and forth as needed..
But you might need to clean the tip and might need higher temperature..
If you have dirty tip, heat doesn't transfer well...
Use wet sponge to clean the tip....
