could have Chris (Mandos) design you one pretty quickly... he's got all the parameters and ins and outs of tailoring sound to the Scions.. Designing/tuning is easy, just time consuming if you're doing all the math analytically..

The recommended port yeilds a real-life tuning frequency of 32 Hz. If you were to check our work with T/S modeling you will come up with 38 Hz. Most programs cannot account for inductance which has a huge impact on performance.
JL Audio recommnedations are based upon real-world testing and I highly recommend sticking to them to get the best performance.

Are JL recomendations for SPL, SQ or SQL. I personally preffered sealed, but I have respect for and love low tuned boxes 29 and below, however for my daily driver I go sealed. I may oneday when I don't care about space go for a 4th order bandpass box. I am always curious what maufactures are going after when they recomend a certain box for their sub, wheter it be SQ,SPL, or SQL.

Looking good so far, can't wait to see this box. I am looking to upgrade my setup as well to JL Audio, I really wanna get 2 10W7's but I don't know if I wanna take everything out of my car to put sound deadener down. How do you like the 10W6V2? That was my next choice.

I might just fork out the extra wire and mount my crossovers in the rear styrofoam box in the back, right next to my amp. Might be extra work, but I don't think I'd like the xovers in the door too much. *shrug*

nah, that setup will be awsome! most competition cars leave the rear speakers cause the fronts is what your worried about

p.s.- im building the box as we speak! Comming along great and i dont have carpet so i spray painting it black for now.

just finished the box and let me say............... :D

im def. gonna need a cap if im gonna be banging it loud cause my lights are flickering, but only a little bit, but i have the sub on about a +7 out of +15 on the HU. the gain is a little past halfway! I dont have carpet yet so im gonna spray paint it tomorrow black.

overall spending total for the box was about $25. $20 for the MDF sheet, $2 for screws & nails, $3 for foam insilation. oh yea i need to go to WalMart tonight to get some foam type stuff for my license plate cause it rattles like hell but put slight pressure on it and its gone so happy that my truck doenst play drums!
