I got a Whistler radar, too many fals alarms, good price though and it does pick up real radar signals too.

I heard Beltronics (I think that's right) is real good but real expensive.

ive got a beltronics vector995 and i cant complain. my boy has the valentine 1 and honestly... mine cost me 350 his almost 500 bucks and if i had that thing i wouldnt be able to read it at night. it lacks an LED display to tell you what band radar it is. just a little light next to the three diffrent bands. extremely difficult to see at night. also with the valentine yes.. it reaches alot further than any detector out there and depending on where you live if the cops use radar detector detector's(VG2) youre way more ____ed than anyone else because he picks up your signal before you pick up his, giving him enough time to turn off his radar and bam he switches it back on when you least expect it..he got you

 

and i just noticed youre from virginia.. the original poster i mean. last i knew they were illegal in your state. i wouldnt want to see the amount of money youll be spending on that ticket plus the speeding ticket if they nail ya

 

Unlucky - Virginia is the one state that radar detectors are illegal. (That and Washington D.C.)

x50 or v1, up to you. personally, i'd go with the x50 if you can get a discount from a friend. i had my friend who worked at best buy and got it for me at $180. if i had to pay retail, i would've gone with the v1

 

I have the blue 8500 x50 passport and love it. I also have installed the zr3 laser shifter. They both work flawless. I still get pulled over (some cops just dont use radar or laser) and when they try to tell me "i had you going 45 in east main street in a 25" I confindently tell them that is not what i had and ask if they are estimating or they know while looking at my radar detector. They always just give me a warning.
