Default 05 aux in with factory XM

I know the topic has been beat to death but I'm struggling to find an answer. I have an 05 headunit with factory XM satellite. I need an aux input for my mp3 player (zune). I bought the FM modulator but it sucks bad. I know the main solution is the TOY PIE adapter but I would then loose the XM. I wouldn't mind ditching the satellite but then again spending $70 for some RCA inputs seems steep. Has anyone seen a pinout of the 05 stereo. I wouldn't think that the signal is digital, so you should be able to solder up some RCAs on the cheep. Any insight would be appreciated.

You dont have to go with the PIE. You can also go with DF-Toy (sell these at Circuit City running for $70 as well). But you should also check your pin if it's being used by the XM. You can check by looking on the back of ur stereo. Left to right the 2nd pin on the left should be empty. Thats where the aux input should go.

Anyone have any experience with a hardwired FM modulator?

hey man ive been tryin to sell my DF-TOY for almost a month now..i barely used it before i switched out my head unit so its in brand new condition basicly. ill be happy to let it go for 38 shipped to your door. lemme know man. its got an rca cable attached also so you'll be good to go as soon as you plug it in. you're the first person ive come across that i dont think id have to explain the whole setup and process to lol. you seem well informed already.
