I know, I know, search... I tried running a google search of the site.

I'm looking to plug a standard TRS MiniJack:



... into the stock headunit.

I'm sure there's no MiniJack port on the back of the stereo, but does it have RCA connectors:



...or anything back there that I can plug a MiniJack adaptor like this:



... into?

No. There are no plugs like that at all. You'd need something like PIE TOY03 AUX adapter (google it or check the Tech section). It's about $50-$60 and will give you a set of RCA plugs.

 

If you can afford it, just get a new HU from crutchfield.com. They include the car kit, harness, and guide sheets for the install. 3 years ago I got an Alpine HU and it was seriously one of the best investments I made for my tC. iPod and Satellite never sounded better.

Honestly get a new HU. The minute I found out I needed an adapter for my ipod I just sprung for a new unit. The '05 headunit is probably the worst thing that I've had in a car of mine.
