I don't know about for these subs in particular, but I've heard a genereal consensus is, if you can't get a ported box specially made for you, go sealed. A pre-made box most likely won't be tuned right to the specs of the woofer and you'll get disappointing results. I would suggest finding someone locally or online that will make a custom box for you. Or if you get the nerve to try it yourself, it shouldn't be too bad of a job to make a simple box.

OK thanks... I can ask some local shops to build a box to those specs... What do you think is a good price for a box built for 2-12's??

600RMS a piece and gonna have 2...

You really think it would cost a lot to have a MDF rectangle box made for 2-12's?? lol

But it might be... You have an idea on what it might cost?

damn bro i think you should get the pioneer priemiers champion pro series...i have em! and its freaking awesome!! there about 1,000 rms each and 3,000watts.... Pioneer Premier TS-W3001D4 thats the model number...........and if you got the m0ollaa you can get Pioneer Premier TS-W5102SPL....2,500rms and 6,000watts each..........one of those would do excellent.....pricey though but worth it!!....and the box....i think a custom should cost around $150-400 all depends on what you want

o0o well its k0ol!....im crazy into music and stuff....just if your into like loosing weight on your car and stuff this wont be the subs for you cuz the 1000rms subs weighs about almost 40lbs each and then you add the box and you have your self around 150lbs on your car extra lol and for the 2500rms sub that weighs almost 90lbs each and imagine if you have 2 of them then add the box lol you would have well over 200lbs extra.....and the box that price was just an estimate it could be less....just all depends on what material you want....that price was for a custom sealed box wrapped with white/black vinyl filled with cotton and air sealed

Definitely! OR hit up vitveet by PM over on caraudio.com

He built my single 10" ported box for me and it was VERY reasonably priced and well built too

The box should only cost you about $100-150 in parts and labor, the killer will be the shipping if you have to have it shipped to you.

If you get two of those babies and run them in parallel for a 1ohm load with a 1ohm stable amp that gives out 1300+W, you will be as loud as you would ever want with amazing SQ

I'm no amp pro, but I know US Amps are solid, this would be a good choice:

$140 x 2 + $300 + shipping = ~$600
For this setup setup, should I just go ahead and go with a 0 guage wiring? And also should I run a capacitor??

Thanks Again!!

You'll definitely be fine with 4AWG power and ground if your total system power is under 1200wRMS. However, if you feel compelled, 1/0 is always better for future expansion. However, anyone who is knowledgeable in car audio will tell you that a capacitor is a TOTAL effing waste. That being said, don't waste your money. Our stock electrical will handle up to about 1500wRMS without any issues. After that, an upgraded alternator/second battery would be beneficial.

All that being said, the choice is yours.

Thanks for the info... I'll skip the capacitor, but I think I'm just gonna go big and do 1/0 guage.... Not really needed as you said, but why not

Well thanks for all the info you guys have given me!!

just to bring kicker back into the game :p

D3 - iPod - xm
2 12" L7's
zx1500.1
zx450.2
SS65.2's in the doors

0awg from battery to back, distro to 0 for 1500 and 4 for 450
box is ported. 3.5cu after port displacement.

151.7db on termlab at the dash.

i do listen to mostly rap/hip-hop but i havent herd too many stereos that play most songs better then mine, it helps that the subs/port are mounted about 2 inches from the hatch so all sound is pushed to the cab. and i have over 80sqft of dynamat extreme in the car, mostly in the hatch/truck.

kicker by no means is a SQ setup but im in it for mostly SPL but i like to be able to hear the vocals also and i have no complaints with my setup.

yes i read that you are set on RE now, but i didnt really see anything positive about Kicker in here so i though i would put out my opinion.

I'm not gonna lie, VERY NICE setup Luc1f3r... I've seen your car and never really liked the whole red/black theme..(Just my opinion) but I really like how you pulled it off.. and how Kicker's amps are red/black like your theme.... Nice job..
