Default 6 cd changer issues "ERROR 4"

Lately, for some reason, my 6 cd changer has decided to crap out on my every once in a while. Specifically, when i try to advance to the next disk, i get a message that says "Error 4". Then the radio will not let me change cds or eject cds. It will only allow me to switch to radio. The only way i can get it working again is to pull over, turn off the car, and start it up again, in which case the disk usually ejects immediately, or starts working. Anyone else have this problem?

YES! I had the exact problem a couple times. Never went to the dealer though. I just upgraded to an AVIC-D1 with my sub install. I would like to know what caused that problem though. Good luck

welcome to the club ! It will never work, even when you take it to the dealer. They will give you a new one and that one will do the same! That "ERROR" was your cue to get a "NEW" HU!
