Default Adding sub and amp questions

Ok so i have a few basic questions, i am adding a 10" sub and an amp to the factory head unit.

The first question is how do you pull the factory headunit?

Second is, the amp has "low leve input" rca cables and a high level input which is 3 wires, which is the best to use? or can i only use on eon the factory headunit. ive always used RCA's thats why i ask.

Also when i get the HU removed is there any secret to finding the remote antenna, plug?

thanks in advance

RCAs are the best to use for clean signal. You'll need a line-out converter if you're still using the factory HU. You can purchase one from Alpman on yoursciontc.com. It snaps onto the HUs actual harness, no extra wiring. You can use the high-level inputs if you'd like though, you simply put the speaker wiring into them.

To pull out the HU, remove the shift **** by screwing it off (if you have an auto, I don't know how to help you), then pull up and back on the nearest silver part of the shift panel. Watch out for the cigarette lighter wire. Once that panel is off, start pulling on the center console one side at a time, from the bottom to the top. Don't pull off in a rush, as you still have to unplug the HVAC. From there, you use a phillips screwdriver and a 10mm deep-well socket to remove the HU.

Its pretty much the same for the auto, although I did have to move it down a few just so the first part of the panel came off easier.

what wire are you using as your remote? test it with a multimeter to see what happens when you put in a cd... probably drops voltage

remote should be hooked into the ignition wire that goes into the radio, I think its a grey one. The only thing is that the amp is on whenever the car is on, but thats not a big deal for me. I don't get any sub pops or anything from it. You have yours hooked to a "power antenna" wire that loses voltage on any other source other then the radio.

Doesn't the stock radio in 05 tCs have a remote turn-on wire already? When I took mine out, I was like, how convenient.
