Default Aftermarket Steering Wheels

ive been looking into getting one, but from those of you who have one what are the pro's and con's of them, i like the look of not having it in the car during a show, with the quick release of course, let me hear opinions

I don't have one, but I know you won't be able to have the airbag.

yeah, basically, no air bag, and if you are an 06 and up, no steering wheel audio controls...oh and if you get pulled over, you'll get a ticket for no driverside air bag...and if you crash...you could get hurt...

there really aren't any pro's to aftermarket steering wheels, it is just a show factor really.

and the quick release is a feature to make it easier to get in and out of the car when you have things like deep bucket seats and a roll cage to climb in and out of.

here are the only pros of it that i know of:

1. theft deterant - hard to drive the car when you don't have a wheel
2. smaller diameter wheel will enable you to go from lock to lock with less rotations but will require more force, thats about it i think

of course i could be completely wrong

i heard that you have to manually turn off your blinker thingy too...
like after you turn it does not return to the off position and you have to manually turn it off, unless you mod it somehow.

hope that makes sense. lol

Yup, it's kinda annoying.

Pros: Smaller Wheel, Theft Deterent (Like Nebster said), Looks cool too.
Cons: No air bag, Have to manually turn off turn signals, no radio controls, and no cruise control unless you relocate it. Something similar to what Cynce did in her car.

A little tid-bit of information, once you take the steering wheel off, it prevents ALL AIR BAGS from deploying, it's not JUST the one in the steering wheel.

Also, yes, with the turn signals, you have to manually turn it off. If I didn't have an aftermarket steering wheel I'd have no way of getting in and out of my car & I'm only 5'2" 110 pounds because of my buckets.
