Default AM Radio Problem

I have a Kenwood KDC-MP528 with KEN-1 Sirius Tuner running into the factory harness. I have wired literally hundreds of car stereo's without a problem. All my FM channels come in great, my Sirius works perfectly, CD and MP3 player functions fine...... But for some reason my AM barely comes in. It can only pick up the Boston AM stations when I am in Boston. I never used the AM with my stock HU so I cant claim to know if its the radio.
Anyone else have problems with this?
Could it be a grounding issue? I thought about addint a Ground Loop Isolator but I could be wasting my money if this is a common tC problem.

Generally if it's a grounding issue, I think you'd hear a whine noise when listening to ANYTHING... there may be a signal booster type of thing you could get though. I'm not really sure.

Yeah, i know the whine you are talking about. Usually you hear the static escalate with acceleration too..... none of that is happening though which is why i would think its an antenna issue. But the FM works fine, i dont get it.

Would it be possible to swap in the OEM radio and see if it works with that? I don't know if you still have it or anything though.
