Default Anyone else done this before ....

I've been searching around the forums for awhile now and I have yet to see anyone else post something up about this. You know that little secret stash spot with the lid that flips next to the base of the shift ****, just in front of the cup holders. Anyone else overfill that with change? If you haven't, DON'T. I did this and had to rip the lid off just so I could open it fully again. What happens is that when you flip the lid back, it retracts into a little slot behind the actual compartment, so when you over fill it, change goes into that little slot so the lid can't fully open. Just thought I'd share that with you. Oh, and since ripping it off, it doesn't sit flush anymore and kinda wobbles around a bit. Am I the only dumbass that's done this???

I've seen someone post about it before, so you're not the only one. But I probably would have just pulled off that console piece and got the change away from the lid from underneath.

I did this and was ____ed because I needed my change for a toll and couldn't get the thing open enough to get the change out...and it sucks...I'm eventually going to fix it, but I haven't taken the time yet.

My friends suggested that I put change in there, actually. Wow, talk about a bad idea or planning on Scions part! Is there an actual change holder (other than this) in the tC?

I put change in there before but don't anymore. I had the same thing happen to me. I tried getting the change out by prying on it but ended up making the spring fall off of it so i just removed the console and did it the easier way. I got the change out of it and put the spring back in place and all is good now. I don't put change in there anymore because of the dang rattle it makes and its also hard to grab stuff out of it when you have larger hands. too small of a compartment.

I stopped keeping change in there after my (then 2 year old) son fed $2.26 into my flip out DVD player. Only 7 quarters. That was a stressful moment.
