Default audio problem after installing injen cai

ok i have 2 cerwin vega subs 12inch and 2 amps and 4 260 watts pioneer speakers. before i put my CAI my systme sounded great. ever since i put it on i lost about half the power. i dont know why i didnt touch any of my cables or anything. also when im on a red light the sounds goes down and when i speed up the sound starts to pick up. i dont have a cap so mabye that would help but i dont think it would fix the whole problem.

you should definitely use a cap, 1 farad is recommended for every 500 watts rms. if you see your lights dimming still after the cap, i would swap out the factory battery for a optima yellow top battery.

Installing your CAI should have no effect on your stereo system, unless you blew something when you installed the CAI.

what kind of radio do you have? the factory or aftermarket. i know that on some model aftermarket pioneer radios there is a setting on teh radio that makes the sound go up and down by it self. i think its the asl and you have to turn it off, thats the only thing i can think of.

When you installed your CAI you disconnected the battery reseting your stock HU. Go in and change it to the way you had it. Dont forget to switch through the xA,xB,tC settings. I think it was xB with the loudest sound. Hold in the SSP button to access that stuff.
And the volume goes down like x2dab said. The asl. on off it never changes. the higher the setting the louder it gets to overcome roadnoise.

Capacitors cannot charge to a higher voltage than is available so they do nothing to help a charging system in distress. I'm no engineer, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It's moot because it has nothing do do with his problem anyway.

yet you're here again, anyways, check the ground wire from the battery because I found that when I installed my Injen CAI, the ground didn't came off, but had come loose and with the increase in power flowing with a system, the fault ground causes that.

Cap's are not meant or even said to increase power output they stabilize the power going to the amp. People are always quick to say cap's are useless but few rarely even understand there purpose......

I intern at an audio shop and from what I have learned...You Dont need a capacitor. The best they are good for is cosmetics. I think they look cool and thats about it.

Thread revival... but I have some interesting audio problems too, and wonder if it was from moving the ground location when I used to have the injen cai.
