Default AUX Cable on a 2006 Radio

Bought a 2006 HU to put in my sister's xA because she wanted the AUX input. But I don't know the exact cable i need to run the AUX. Does anyone know the correct cable i need or where i can find one?

oh wait, you mean that she doesn't have the aux input in her car? You'll need the wiring harness for that.. ohh.. hmm.. might be easier just to get an aftermarket with an aux in.

Nope, she doesnt have that part of the harness. I'm trying to figure out if its just a straight cable, because if it is i'll just solder a standard stereo cable right to the back of the radio.

it's not a straight cable. there's a wiring harness and connector on the back of the radio for the AUX.

yea, it would've been easier to buy an aftermarket stereo.

I know it's not a regular cable, but what im asking is are the pins on the back of the radio where the harness goes auxiliary in? If its possible i think it would be simple to solder the cable right to those pins.

there's about 4 pins you need to deal with, with 4 wires you need to attach, and then wire it correctly to a stereo jack if you're gonna do what you're gonna do.

4? Isn't there just left right and ground? Would you happen to know what pins i would need to tap into?

http://scionlife.org/Scion_Docs/2007...o%20system.pdf

17, 15, 16, and 19

'AUXI' is grounded when the plug is inserted in that tells the stereo there's an AUX input available. otherwise you can't select it from the headunit.

so yes, there's 4 wires.

So i ground the one wire to the frame, then wire the remaining three wires to the stereo cable?
