thanks for an indepth description nodsetse! as far as compressed formats and losing the extra freqs. would ripping 320kbps at 44.1khz from a actual cd (not burned) help remedy those lost freqs and maintain them (speaking for newer music of course)?

oh yeah and i just checked.. my bass boost is off on my d3. lol

Yes, at that high bit rate it's unlikely you'd be able to tell the difference between that mp3 and the original CDA format on most systems. There shouldn't be a need for any type of enhancement device like an EPICenter, only the usual low frequency EQ.

sweet! i rip at 320 each time i can, anything less sounds bad to me. haha. but thanks for the info though, good to know that ive been doing something right for all this time. lol

and neither do my amp or my HU have bass boost on. lol
