i guess no news is good news...when it comes to powered amplifiers which to u recommand the MTX X ThunderLink XT110P, Infinity Basslink, or Bazooka BTA10100? i personally like the thunderlink based on specs but im not too sure on how it sounds.

If you can spare an extra $50, I stand behind this amp 100%!

And I bought it from the same place, which offers full 2 year warranty on the amp! It's a steal for $300 shipped, and my RSD's sound great off of the 2.150 version! Can't go wrong here

would the alpine amp be too much for my speakers? its rms is 100watts x 4 my speakers are 75watts rms. does getting a more powerful amp make the speakers sound better?....i was thinkin bout the mtx since they are well known for subwoofers.

you can never have to much power. it's better to have to much than not enough. speakers are usually blown from an amp clipping, not from being overpowered. of course overpowering can blow them but it's easier to blow a speaker with a dirty signal from a weak amp.
right now i have a set of PG RSD comps(same as kidwolf). they are rated for 60 watts rms per side. i had them run passive (which just means with the supplied crossovers) on an amp that can do 205 per side.
right now i currently have the same mids (the 6.5's) alone on the amp that can do 205x2. and i have my tweeters running off my head unit so about 22x2 for them. i also plan to soon get another amp that can do about 75x2 and run just the tweeters off of it.
my point is, just because the power is there doesn't mean you will use all of it. it's better to have more on tap and not pushing the amp to it's limits. pushing an amp to and past it's limits is what kills speakers.

tcguy is right. And not only can a weak, dirty signal hurt your speakers, but when you REALLY want that extra volume in your music (and you will, trust me), you want to be able to have that headroom without pushing your amp to the limit of distortion. When you reach the edge of the amplification circuit, you get distortion, where if you had another 25w to go, you'd be a happy camper.
The MTX might suit your needs, as long as it offers clean power. My PDX's just fit the bill on size, power, and price for me

i've yet to hear anything bad about the pdx amps. they're all underrated, they're tiny and the design is really easy to use. eclipse will be coming out with comparable amps but i haven't heard enough about them for me to hold off on buying the pdx amps.

MTX may not be the best choice for mids / highs, most systems I've seen them employed in use them for SPL subs, they have awesome output but other brands do better sound quality, more important for mid / high applications. I have a JL Audio 300/4 on two sets of MB Quart RVF-216's.

Based on features, tuneability, sound quality and build it's the best amp I've owned. I would never pay retail for it though, JL is overpriced MSRP, and Crutchfield pricing is insane. If you can find a good deal off of ebay or a used from Craigslist or Scionlife, you won't regret it. Watch the eBay seller return policies though, JL does not authorize internet sales except Crutchfield and won't warranty it directly, you'd need to go through the eBay seller.
I can't speak for their A-series, haven't ever had a set, I would imagine they are still decent.

Nebster, how's the Wild build coming? I'd like to see what's been done since last year. Would be nice to see more than the coming soon page on the website too, it's been up there forever, take a break from the car for a minute and mod the HTML.
